branston (thick cut) pickle on chicken n rice? Is it a full moon?
Its like that bleeding Kit Kat thread, it made me go and buy choc digestivesThis stuff.
Used to buy it online from Fitz’s at London Borough Market after my niece bought it for me one Christmas.
Bit addictive and makes you eat unhealthy stuff like pork pies to accompany it.
Going to re-order some for Christmas and I’m blaming it on this thread.
So when you cook, you don't season any of the ingredients?….not a big fan of putting condiments on food, certainly never add salt as it’s a bit like putting sugar in tea.
Brown sauce on a bacon butty would be about my limit, although I like Branston pickle accompanying one of Mrs Eggs home made steak pies.

Is this a sodium/blood pressure/better diet thing?….rarely and certainly not with salt.

if I can't have salt on my chips, I'd rather not have the chips.….fingers crossed I’ve always been fine with BP, but it’s certainly part of a better diet as I started getting on a bit.
I find it a bit like sugar in tea now, it puts me off the taste of food if there’s too much in. Obviously it’s an ingredient in lots of things, I don’t avoid it to that extent but I couldn’t eat a portion of chips with salt on.
Does make me smile when people put salt on their meal without even tasting to see if it’s required.

i agree with when you say 'Does make me smile when people put salt on their meal without even tasting to see if it’s required.'. it drives me insane when i cook a nice meal and people (my parents) cover it in salt without trying it
however, salt is a fundamental part of cooking - from texture to flavour enhancer, for eg, the way the Japanese cuisine uses salt. Adding salt to food shouldn't make it taste more salty, but should make things taste/feel better - which includes adding sweetness and acidity
Shout out to Peri Peri salt.if I can't have salt on my chips, I'd rather not have the chips.
