2025/26 Tyler Dibling

Yet there are numerous instances of him doing this in a Southampton and England youth team shirt (He even did it at Goodison for Southampton). So why, in your opinion, can’t he do it in an Everton shirt? You do realise the tactics and mindset employed in the first and second halves were completely different yesterday?

….i’m more than hopeful he can be a threat but no signs of it yet for us. That ability to go past players will surely surface.

Not buying this personally.

Basically asking everyone else to make him look better.

Hes a kid we've paid £40mill for who's clearly scared and plays within himself rather than blaming other players around him.

The signing is looking exactly how id thought it would. We should be starting McNeil IMO over him until he gets more experience with sub appearances.
Log off today mate, I doubt you can top this.

….he was ‘put in’ behind the full back once in the first half, I’m not sure who gave him the lovely weighted pass but he had a free run into the box but was wasteful putting the cross straight at the keeper.

We all want him to be terrific but sometimes we look for excuses. If he’s going to be worth £100m at the end of next season I’d like to be seeing a few signs of outstanding quality. He looks terrific in possession of a football, just want to see more threat.
To be fair to him he didn’t have anyone to aim for as Barry was standing still watching him from the edge of the box, better movement in the box and he might have found him.

I’m in agreement with you there, yesterday the setup in the first half was all wrong. I think Moyes expected Palace to be far more tired than they were and adopted a very slow, rigid approach with far too many direct balls from back to front. The lack of movement was also evident across the pitch. The attacking players were all isolated and nullified easily, even Ndiaye looked completely lost.

Dibling and Barry look like two sides of a similar coin, to me. Both nervous, and trying to get up to speed. Barry has made very poor choices and looked a bit overeager, and Dibling has looked reticent to make a choice, and instead just looks to lay the ball off back where it came from.

For the time being they should be left on the bench to come on against tired defenders and maybe get a bit of confidence that way. Doesn't matter how much we paid for them, they're kids, and if they need some time and patience to start paying back the price tags then that's what they should get.

I think Dibling in particular will be a very exciting player for us in time.

Are you a Dave K multi.

He’s started one match …

Felliani was our record signing and looked like he’d never been on a football pitch in his first few games and then turned into one of our most important players …

Garner didn’t exactly set the world alight at first and is now playing well

Players need time … especially teenagers
That's my point. He's started one match and we're in October. Fellaini was straight in the side and playing every game.

Everton currently shouldn't be spending near 40m on a player that doesn't start nor looks ready to start a game. Lets hope we don't get injuries to Grealish and Ndiaye.

To be fair he was up against a well drilled side high on confidence yesterday and looked no better or worse than any other Everton player in the first half - didn’t help him much that we focussed on the left side for our attacks.

They tired in the second half when we got after them - imagine he would have got more joy had he stayed on.

….to me, he looks more of a Grealish type who stands his full-back up as opposed to a ‘flyer’ looking to exploit space behind.

The reality is, he’s been disappointing. Very comfortable on the ball but no instances of him getting beyond his marker and providing threat. We had a break yesterday and he had the opportunity to play Grealish in space on the opposite flank but he went central before eventually going to Grealish.

If he’s a £100m in the making, I want to see him making things happen. Hopefully his time will come but he doesn’t look ready at the moment. I actually wonder if he’ll be more effective in central areas.
100m or failure?
What sort of ridiculous benchmark is that?
