New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Also felt as if things had gone backwards, on the concourse, from the Villa game. Not sure if it being a night game was to blame like. Outside on the plaza was pretty sound, feels like thats becoming less chaotic as we go.

Fellas, still, trying to barge into the women's toilets.

Driving away from the ground was awful, and heard Sandhills wasn't great from people who got the train. Well done, LCC.

We should just keep it about football. Sack all that light show rubbish off.

They won't. It's a UEFA regulation now that you have to have a certain set of lights for European games and broadcasting.

The benefit of said lights is that you can do pre-match shows like that. Otherwise, meh.

Christ, didn't think I'd be talking about the ins and outs of lightbulbs on a Tuesday.

The good thing with crap like this is they will itching to showcase this stadium in the champions league. Hopefully with us playing in it

First time I’ve seen the badges lit up 💙

Little things to make it feel more like home;

1. 'Everton FC' in big illuminated letters with an illuminated 'Est.1878' next to it in smaller letters on two sides of the stadium. Hill Dickinson are still getting their moneys worth being on the other two sides and the fact the stadium is called the 'Hill Dickinson Stadium'.
2. An old fetish of mine that oddly (In my view) not everyone agrees with but our statues of Dixie/Holy Trinity need to be there.
3. 'EFC' and 'Everton' in white seating as at Goodison. Yes I know it can only be seen when empty but so what? 330 days of the year it will be empty.

Maybe some of these things are in the pipeline but I wish they would hurry up!

That really grinds my gears. Hate to see it at Wembley in a major game when the seats opposite the camera are still empty ten minutes into the second half. Didn't think this would be replicated at HD but, unfortunately, it is and does not reflect well on the match going supporters. I would personally go without my half-time prawn sarnie if I was in either of those sections but people pay their dues so who am I to criticise. Just doesn't 'feel' Everton, though. It's another example of how the grass roots have been removed from the matchday football experience
Think it's a few factors. There's the newness of the scran on offer plus a lot of new fans also who may be looking for a different experience to those who were Goodison diehards.
Can only speak for my area in the upper SW; the queues for food have always been huge (I've never attempted to get any) yet I can get a pint really easily at the main south bar. Problem then is the queues for the toilets stop you getting back up in time for KO. You can always skip the food/pint of course but that kind of negates a chunk of the business case for having the stadium in the first place.
If the club want people in their seats for the 5 mins either side of HT they need to come up with some solutions. Redesigned toilets and ebars/walkthrough in my area would help enormously.

Our match going fanbase is a deadly mix of two factions.

1. Old/middle aged gammony blokes who are fatigued with Everton and life in general, who just want a moan and a vessel to vent their anger through.

2. Too cool for school uber Scouse Montirex shagging kids who are more arsed about sneering at people’s trainers and “buzzing off wools” than they are about singing, which is cringe and wool behaviour.

These two factions are not only toxic on their own, but they also absolutely hate and are at war within each other. The only realistic cure for this sickness is to purge one or both of them from the fanbase.
@chicoazul
Aye accurate.

Trying to out bloo each other is just silly. Support Everton how you want to, we’re a big non homogenous soup each trying to navigate a nasty weekend habit called Everton. You do you, mate.

I’m the back row of the lower. I noticed yesterday that the upper doesn’t even stand for a corner at our end. Are people scared to stand up because how steep the stand is or something?

I know loads of people who used to be in the lower Gwladys who have moved to the upper south and absolutely hate it in comparison.

There isnt a need to stand, everyones seat has a great view.

How did people find getting home last night? Be interesting to see how much quicker or slower it was than Goodison. Will have a big impact on attendances in years to come.

Now that its full capacity I got home last night in 90 mins vs 60 mins from GP.

It is though taking forever getting out of the car park on Walter Street.

Did try and get into the NCP Car Park next to the Chinese restaurant last night to see if that was quicker but was stopped by security. The only explanation was that he is working for the restaurant. Plenty of space in the NCP.
