New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Not yet been to the stadium but I imagine the atmosphere will grow and get better organically once everyone has found their feet and becomes more accustomed to their surroundings.

A successful or - at the very least - a combative team on the pitch giving out positive vibes would be a plus in this regard. All it will take is a game with a few Everton goals and a few Phil Neville (never thought I would be including him in this comment) moments to really stir up the crowd.

I miss things about Goodison, I love things about the hill dicky. In time everything will be ironed out and improvements made to the overall feeling and infrastructure.

That being said it could have benefitted from another 6 months of work and more testing, especially for queues and entry etc but I guess the cash needs to flow in so

Had earmarked the Spurs game for the first display, now postponed because there's not enough money for bigger/more flags. They need to get a Patreon set up or something.

Why the club does not pay for them I do not understand. It gives the feeling that we're just renters of the stadium at the moment and there's something a bit weird about how tentative the branding is around the area.

They're skint, need the club to get off their arses and cough up.

That's shocking.

Do they want this stadium to feel like it's the home fortress of a Premier League football club or are they afraid of upsetting sponsors who might have their products not the centre of attention AT ALL TIMES?

The poxy flag display the club provided against Brighton was a complete joke, btw. They cant be left to represent us.

Something has got to be done about the about atmosphere. We might as well have a soulless bowl for a ground if that's the kind of atmosphere we can expect. Its worse then having a soulless bowl because you can tell that the noise would be unbelievable if anyone was arsed. I'm sick and tired of "shall we sing a song for you" and "we forget that you where there" being the most sung songs at our home games.

Was like that at Goodison mate.

Went for the first time last night. The atmosphere wasn’t any better or worse than 90% of games at Goodison. Almost like it’s the people inside and not the actual physical building itself that are responsible for creating the atmosphere, mad take I though.
THIS ☝️
People are talking as if the Goodison atmosphere was amazing 100% of the time.
The atmosphere was (and still will be) dependant on the action.

Im block 209 in the upper South right beind the goal. The 2 seats next to me have been different people every game. 2 tourists last night who didnt support Everton. What is all that about whats the point in buying ST to sell every week.

Also the east and west being completly empty until 5 mins into the second half is embarasisng.

Don't give Kinnear ideas...

I can see it now. "Get Your Everton-branded oxygen here: "C Oh 2? C Oh Blue!""
I seem to have confused my carbon dioxide with my oxygen and even my water...

"Oh" would be a perfect name for a cannister when some auld fella has keeled over at the top of the stairwell.

when it gets going its louder than goodison

but as with any game of football it’s dependent on what is served up on the pitch and the occasion

brighton had some special moments, villa had a flurry around the 60 minute mark for around 5-10 mins that was vociferous

last night was flat but it’s a monday night. they absolutely need binning off

not likely with MNF but no one is tuning into that for the match, it’s just for the chat and the guest

feel like a Friday night game would be a much better slot, better for taking the day off work/finishing early, not needing to worry about work (in most cases) or school next day

one thing that was better for me was queing, only just clocked that for villa there were only two turnstiles for turnstile 12 of south stand. much more open yesterday and took a couple of minutes rather than 20

Been to all games bar one of the test event. Things are definitly improving imo. For us wools who come by coach, the traffic management is getting better and the club are listening and working to improve. I tend to go straight in the ground, service at the bars very good, also the food bars are good. Some queues at the toilets, but only what you expect at any event. Prices for food and drink still too much, not sure if these will drop, highly unlikely. Overall, like I said, things improving as club and us fans get used to our new home. 👍

That really grinds my gears. Hate to see it at Wembley in a major game when the seats opposite the camera are still empty ten minutes into the second half. Didn't think this would be replicated at HD but, unfortunately, it is and does not reflect well on the match going supporters. I would personally go without my half-time prawn sarnie if I was in either of those sections but people pay their dues so who am I to criticise. Just doesn't 'feel' Everton, though. It's another example of how the grass roots have been removed from the matchday football experience

I know mate. I have no romantic notion that Goodison was perfect. It was dead for a good ten years outside of the occasional game, some of us tried to fix it and never had any luck. I just foolishly viewed the new place as a fresh start and the chance for the club to do something about it but as usual they buggered it up.
