In Barry’s defence, his control is better than Beto’s. Half the time I’m not sure if Beto’s first touch is supposed to be a 30 yard pass or an attempt to trap the ball.

I feel our set u0 is not suited to either of the two bang average strikers - their inability to trap & hold the ball up is a big disappointment!

From my perspective, last season when Moyes took over there was basically one way to get Beto to score, which was Alcaraz or Garner feed him through behind the defenders. This season we're far more intricate and have creative players out wide instead of Jack Harrison, and I think that Beto just isn't up to understanding these different chances to get into position. We also push the opposition defence back further through Grealish, which means less space for Beto to get in behind. This is from my arm chair of course.

Don't know what people are complaining about, he made a run against Brighton.
I said it loads last year and in the summer, one little run of form like Beto had can’t be used as evidence of an ability to do it over a longer period. He got 5 in 4 games which was amazing but also completely out of keeping with the rest of his career. For some reason loads of people decided he was likely to keep up that sort of level in the long term but unsurprisingly he hasn’t.
