Branthwaite wasn't playing there tonight. Gueye is way over the top now. Ndiaye is overrated and inconsistent. Garner is...so-so. Grealish and Pickford are class players. Dewsbury-Hall is no more than tidy.

I agree with you on the lack of strikers and full-backs. Throw in a safety-first, risk-averse, percentages manager and we're getting mediocrity. Or "stability".
Think you're underrating Garner and Ndiaye.

I was of the opinion in the summer that we needed a right back to even call the transfer window an adequate success, so I was throughly expecting us to be a little disjointed since we didn’t sign one - but I’ve been shocked at how little Moyes has managed to get out of us as an attacking unit so far.

To have players like Grealish, NDiaye, KDH, Dibling, Alcaraz, McNeil… it takes some doing to look as toothless as we do with those options. We were considerably more free flowing in the second half of last season with only two of those players and they can’t get a minute between them.

Yes our strikers aren’t doing it but just swapping one for the other every game with absolutely no impact whatsoever tells you the problems are far more profound.

Moyes needs to find solutions and quick. We have won the same amount of games as some teams who’s managers are hanging on by their fingernails.

While I do agree about their pace. Most of the open space we gave them tonight was self inflicted. It happened with wolves and it happened tonight. We just don't have the quality to penetrate a deep block. And we don't have the pace at the back to defend the counters
Yep, can you see us playing differently at the weekend? If KDH wasn't suspended we would play exactly the same eleven.

I'm just really hoping that Rohl doesnt turn out to be injury prone. We have a genuine option of a 4-3-3 system which utilises him and takes the pressure off Beto & Barry somewhat. Sadly though I just cant see Moyes utilising it..
Turn out to be? He already is lad, did you see his record?? Worrying signs that’s he’s already got a niggle

Just remember, for all those feeling down, that in a year from now this result won’t matter, it will just be part of the amalgamation of garbage we’ve put up with since Moyes left.

Getting the ball to Grealish at all costs is killing us. N’Diaye isn’t dribbling with the ball and is therefore pretty ineffectual. Forwards are easily crowded out by the time Grealish gets to the byline so it’s the same old cutback to Garner, shot blocked, go again.

JOB almost shot himself in the foot doing so well at RB last year because we’ve stuck with it and it’s really not working out. Mykolenko light years away from being as bad as some would have you believe, though.
Completely agree. We've got to come up with a plan B on offense, as teams have already figured out that we're just going to try to force it into Grealish whenever we can and hope he pulls a rabbit out of his hat. So many games now he just gets double-teamed, and then we are unable to use that to find the open man even.

Agree on Myko too. He's no Baines obviously, but he does at least try to get forward and occasionally puts in a half decent ball. JOB needs to be playing CB.

We're unbalanced so badly to the left. Even KDH spends most of the time over there trying to connect with Grealish. Maybe we should try Garner at RB, drop KDH into the middle with Gana, and then put N'Diaye in the middle with Dibling on the right. Let Garner / Dibling / N'Diaye offer some balance on that side, then.

To be fair there are only six points between 6th and 17th at the moment so early days but that quickly can turn into a run of poor form and a battle.

Our problem at the moment is when you see Jack on the ball, he’s looking for a pass but we all stand around in the box with no movement so he’s closed down.

Beto is made for long ball hoofs and chase but no quality and I actually think we are trying to play Barry as a like for like whereas he’s probably more comfortable with quick, close passing to feet and we aren’t helping him by lumping it above his head where defenders can pick him off.

The back line though is a disgrace, only sort of helped by Keane having a bit of form and Myko doing what he needs to do but Tarks has fallen off a cliff this season
Our centre back pairing should be O'Brien and Branthwaite, and get a right back in January
