Palace are a good side with plenty of pace out wide, Jake's in for another long match. Unsurprisingly, teams are now targeting him and I expect that Palace will do the same.
While I do agree about their pace. Most of the open space we gave them tonight was self inflicted. It happened with wolves and it happened tonight. We just don't have the quality to penetrate a deep block. And we don't have the pace at the back to defend the counters

We're currently just 4 points away from 19th - with Palace, City, Spurs & Sunderland away coming up. Moyes has completely drained the confidence out of this side and the fans..

He seriously needs to buck his ideas up or the yanks will send him packing.
To be fair there are only six points between 6th and 17th at the moment so early days but that quickly can turn into a run of poor form and a battle.

Our problem at the moment is when you see Jack on the ball, he’s looking for a pass but we all stand around in the box with no movement so he’s closed down.

Beto is made for long ball hoofs and chase but no quality and I actually think we are trying to play Barry as a like for like whereas he’s probably more comfortable with quick, close passing to feet and we aren’t helping him by lumping it above his head where defenders can pick him off.

The back line though is a disgrace, only sort of helped by Keane having a bit of form and Myko doing what he needs to do but Tarks has fallen off a cliff this season.

….it was why I was so against the Grealish signing, wide players who stand their opponent up before going past but he has been terrific for us.

Grealish type is fine with a speedster overlapping full-back because he has 2 men marking him all the time.

Grealish is obviously a quality player but him, N’Diaye, Dibling (and McNeil) as the options is so one dimensional.

Dunno who you that but I'll doubt we'll qualify for Europe or win the fa cup. Nor would we have won the league cup once we played a decent team. It's just how it is sadly. There's loads of teams much better than us and loads of teams like west ham pretty much the same as us.
Not too good with the sarcasm then? There's plenty on here who have convinced themselves we're in the mix for Europe, go and take a look at the Wolves match thread, for example, but I'm not one of them. I predicted 12th before the season started and I've seen nothing to change my mind on that. Consequently, I would've liked to have had a cup run because we were always just going to be bobbing along in the league. Obviously I'd love us to win a cup even if it is unlikely but Palace showed it certainly isn't impossible but limping out early is always a huge disappointment. And if the idea was to protect players so that we'd get a performance tonight then it was a bad idea.
