A big shock for me yesterday.....

At the cricket club presentation night I was awarded volunteer of the season.

I only go to every game and wash a few glasses and serve behind the bar if no one else is around.

Anyway they know me well because the prize was a £20 bar voucher.

I'd already had a couple of beers and wanted to get back to watch the Ryder cup so I bought all the bar staff a bevy 😂.

So pleased that @anjelikaferrett is having a great time.

My team has a TT match on Monday so with the excuse of a tennis elbow I didn't select myself so I could watch the Wham game instead only for my star player to phone me yesterday and say that he'd forgotten that Monday was his daughter's birthday 😂.

So I have to play , best laid plans of mice and men and all that.

Morning all bit gloomy here, that’s the weather and me. Our elderly neighbour passed away a couple of years ago, he was 94 and had lived there many years. His garden was his pride and joy, fruit trees, ornamental arches etc. surrounded by mature hedges. It’s quite a large garden being at the end of a cul-de-sac and is visible from our back bedroom window. I used to love looking at it. I say used to because the new occupants have removed everything. Over the last couple of days it has been paved and now a fence is being erected. I know gardening isn’t for everyone through lack of interest or time but to obliterate everything seems excessive and makes me a bit sad. I’m just glad Dennis isn’t here to see it.
