Still can't believe the way he set that team up the other night.Invites all the pressure on himself and the team. The majority of the lads who started have been slated.I blame Moyes for being stupid. It all depends.
If we were in the running to win the league or even finish in a CL place then obviously league is priority.
Ditto if we were involved in a relegation battle then cups are of little import.
Personally I don’t think there is a snowball’s chance of the former and I don’t believe we will be involved in the latter.
So if it comes down to prioritising a mid table finish over a good cup run and possible success in one then I am all over prioritising the cups.

I mean, sure. Give it a try sometime, it makes the experience much more enjoyable.Easily pleased.
You got the polarizing opinionsRoughly 70/30 for silverware at this point.
Message is clear, sort it Moyles.

Try telling the players that..Cups are a distraction.
League domination has got to be the ultimate goal.
Then the cups take care of themselves.
Do you not feel passion for the things you love?I mean, sure. Give it a try sometime, it makes the experience much more enjoyable.
Its why you don't appoint a manager like Moyes who's philosophy is nicely summed up in this quote: “The league is our bread and butter. Cup runs are great but they can’t come at the expense of the league.”So we end up just existing just to what ?
Think those words have probably plagued the minds of every fan at some point, and not just at our club..
It's all the same Moyes apologists who were making the same arguments when he was last here. It's fairly simple Football is about winning trophies. The strawman arguments being put up since Moyes did was he does on Tues night are incredible
So many posts dismissing opinions that nobody has actually stated (bar maybe a couple of people if that) Deliberately not addressing what people are actually saying
The only time I’d excuse a manager for not doing their best to win a cup is during those times when we are in real danger of relegation.
Alright mr manager, let's see you shine Naysmith and Kilbane and Hughes and Nyarko and and and into a trophy winning side. The voice of mediocrity speaks. This attitude is exactly why we haven't won anything in the last 30 years.
How courageous were wigan as they went down and never came back? It's not often that managers without courage win trophies. It's the exception, not the rule.
6 rounds to win the League cup..that's just 6 extra games in 7 months , 6 games where you can use 5 subs if god forbid someone's knackered , which is almost half the team !
We had no Europe games to worry about like many other teams do ,It's early in the season ,we're in a decent position in the league and yet he makes 7 changes ( when asked why he said " no reason")just to try and make himself look clever , what a kn.b !
Rant over ,still fuming
Yawn. What a pathetic defence of Moyes. To make it worse, Wigan are the exception for teams outside the top 6 six in the past 30 years. None of those other teams who won a cup got relegated. How courageous were wigan as they went down and never came back?
"Yawn" eh. Hows leicester and portsmouth doing?Yawn. What a pathetic defence of Moyes. To make it worse, Wigan are the exception for teams outside the top 6 six in the past 30 years. None of those other teams who won a cup got relegated.
