TV Series

I've binged series 1 of slow horses it's a 10/10.

In my off the top of my head 5 with the wire, sopranos, foundation, bsg 2004
Keep away from watching The Wire through sky again, they've killed it.

Every single add break has the Nationwide advert with (the main actor) Dominic West in it.

Someone at sky needs to be bloody castrated..

Alien Earth.

I wanted to watch all eight episodes before commenting on it.

First thing, I couldn`t for one moment see where the reputed 250 mil it cost to make went, as some of the episodes had a made for tv feel about them.

Secondly, there was way too many other things going on, to the point that the Aliens were almost a side issue.

Timothy Olyphant was great as Kirsch, Ade Edomson as Eins and Babou Ceesay as Morrow, the rest of the cast was average to dreadful and those three held the whole thing together.

Apart from episode 5, which was standout ( where everything went wrong in the lab ) the other seven episodes where all instantly forgettable, lacked any form of suspense or tension and where generally dull.

Massively underwhelming and I can honestly say that I`ve seen better episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, than some of this.

This comes from one the biggest Alien(s) fans on the planet too.
I liked it, but it was definitely flawed...seome great ideas but not executed v well, I really liked the overarching world of the corporations tho

lol, sky? have you been away for a bit mert, they used to charge for the box they send ye and return the sky router! they would sell their bumholes and 💩 thru their stomachs as me nan used to say
Never had sky. Thought the poster meant they were watching on HBO.
I’m pretty confused about it all tbh Bryan.

The last 3 episodes had the feeling of Ridley Scott's last 2 films. Interesting ideas, but better explored elsewhere rather than try to crowbar in some sort of Blade Runneresque retcon.

Id hoped before it wasn't going to be an anthology series within the Alien universe but it looks like it will be more of the same, if season 2 gets green lit.

It`s been a massive hit, so I`d say it`s highly likely it`ll get the go ahead.

The Alien franchise has been crying out for the ultimate battle - Aliens v Humans on planet earth.
