2025/26 Merlin Röhl

What are you on about?

9/10 keepers shouldnt be getting beat at their near post.

You're switching the argument because your original one was garbage.

If you want to say a lot of goals scored at near post are down to bad positioning then I agree. That's not every goal and also nothing to do with your original statement.

If you can't hit the corners then between the legs is a great option as it's so hard to get down quickly.

Im not switching the argument at all you're just being pedantic to try to enforce you nonsensical opinion.

I was using simple analogy to show how keepers position their bodys to cover the space between their legs.

If you think a keeper being meged for a goal is perfectly fine then more power to you.

You're completely wrong and i hope you never get a job as a keeper coach but you do you

It's not pedantic to disagree with your opinion and analysis.

Personally I think you're completely wrong, good luck with the coaching.

Right so you dont actually know your just guessing?

Also ive had many a discussion with keepers who were semi pro and youth level and this is how they explained it to me.
What do you mean by guessing, I'm not posting from a fact sheet, I'm posting from knowledge..

Watch it happen and your realise..

I'm not going to try and explain it, it's simple to see and understand.
Even when questioned, ex keepers say its the hardest shot to save..

But we differ from opinions on this.

Hey I think a lot of posters on this thread are overreacting about Merlin's current fitness setback, I just saw a pic of him at Finch Farm during a recent training session,he's looking robust

Hi guys. Aussie Evertonian here.

Can you advise what you have heard regarding Merlin? Is he injured?

I thought the match re Wolves was the perfect opportunity for him to start to get some match time into him and start making connections on the field with his teammates. Felt that DM missed an opportunity with numerous of his selections for that match.

Basically he picked up a knock in training so he's not available for selection which is unfortunate.

But the issue is he had a pretty bad season last season with injuries so now people are worried he might be injury prone
