Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I'm sick of the sight of jams/jellies. So far I've made apple and mint, Apple and sage, quince, plum and rowan. Still got to make blackberry, sloe, apple and rosemary and hedgerow. It'll last me years that lot.

I've also made quince brandy, quince and sloe brandy, blackberry vodka, sloe gin and plum gin. The winter nights I think will pass a bit more pleasurable.

Heartfelt wishes @peteblue

Afternoon everyone,

Just a couple of observations after a quick visit to town for a meeting......

1. BMD / Hill Dickinson stadium. Unless you look very carefully you'd never know that this was Everton's stadium. Apart from the crest which is barely visible from the train I can't see any reference to us. ( I appreciate that this might not get the case when you get much closer )?

2. For our many out of towners who visit and looking for a good , cheap lunch spot in town can I recommend Bundoburst on Bold St. Great Indian street food just like Mowgli used to be before they got too big. £24 for a 2 course lunch for 2 was excellent value and they brew their own beer.

Didn't see many RS shirts fortunately. Saw a few Atletico shirts and wishes the wearers good luck for tonight.

Come on Simeone, do the biz against those kopite gobshites.

Anyway have a lovely day everyone 😂
It’s the same when walking to it from town direction. Please find exhibit A below

Hello everybody - the eye test went fine. Nothing to worry about. @fandjango I love lentil dahl. One of my favourite Indian dishes. @Gwladysover my daughter loves Scarborough- she and her partner quite often go for the weekend.- or they did pre Frankie 🤣. I am ashamed to say I have never been! I love seaside towns but since moving to the north east I've never been further south on the Yorkshire coast than Whitby.
Not much to tell you about. Two more days at work so I'm trying to finish everything off. Unfortunately it seems to be one step forward two steps back. We sometimes have to go out for further information on our cases from places like social services, professional bodies or the police. Once we get the information, we get the case back. This morning I had 18 cases waiting for me. By the time I logged off, I had processed nine but still had 16 left because more kept dropping into my queue.
Anyway I did manage to get some holiday shopping done this afternoon and also printed off our ferry tickets.
We're also trying to use up the food in our freezer before we go because I don't want to go food shopping, so tonight's tea was chorizo and chickpea stew - also including kale and sweetcorn. It was surprisingly nice. Im down to a pork joint some noodles and gammon steaks. Tomorrow's tea could be interesting. Roast pork, mushy peas and noodles anybody? 🤣
Have a lovely evening everyone x

Thats where the dislike started with dal ,I do fresh chapatti but use a turkish recipe that she loves and she likes curries but not every week which breaks me as I have had curry for breakfast a few times .I don't know tadka -writing this -but I will in five minutes ,I also make my own chutneys for eating with curry however I love them with cold meat and cheese as well . Nice football top by the way .I have noticed chinese like to wear full costume when bathing .
There’s a great YouTube Indian cook … Chetna who once was famous on master chef … she does simple home cooked Indian food and some of her dals are epic . Check out her simple Tadka which she does with Chana dal .. so chick peas rather than lentils … it’s a wonderful thing

Anje, how are you getting on with Nacho , any progress with the integration?

We’re 2 out of three with our integration of Jenny the kitten, two cats tolerate her wild antics , maybe the odd gentle swipe to put her in her place but our ginger Tom still has lots of hisses and growls and refuses to share the same room as her.

They tolerate each other at the moment. I don't think they will ever be best friends. They actively avoid each other. I don't think poor Nacho particularly likes us either but he's getting better. He will sit out in the open rather than behind the couch so that is an improvement.

Well that’s good progress 👍. A few years ago we took on our daughter’s cat, it took a while but we got there , well my wife did all the patient hard work . But she never got on with one of the cats , they hated each other and we just had to work around it.

We are looking after MrsJs friends kitten. She only comes out from under the bed to eat 😂

I minded my friend's Mum's two cats once while she was in hospital. My friend couldn’t have them because of her dog. They lived under a bed for the whole two weeks. They must have come out to eat during the night because their bowls were always empty in the morning. When it came time to give them back, they shredded my hands as I fished them out from under the bed. I ended up in A and E having a tetanus and precautionary antibiotics.
