And that's what they are: excuses.

If these obstacles are insurmountable for the current people highly paid to find solutions, then we need new people in those positions.
The only thing I would say is that if you look at the mid-table teams who finished around us it's difficult to see any who've noticeably improved with signings this summer.

I know we have more work to do than most of them in terms of numbers but it doesn't seem to be a buyer's market so far away that level.

Incredibly baffling comments in the press conference.

Moyes made it appear like there are substantial funds available, just that our top choices want Europe and have rejected us.

Well we've had 2 months to move onto second, third and fourth choices... this is a monumental failure by the club to not bring in anybody on that right hand side.

Then he says he feels like there has been progress this week, then a few minutes later says it doesn't mean we'll actually bring anybody in though.

Madness.

It’s an old Moyes Jedi mind trick mate, play down expectations, then surprise everyone with better then expected and everyone thinks your great.

Conceicou (sp?)
Forfana
Dibling
Bakayoko

We have completed at least levels 1-4 already on the RW game. How low do you go?
It’s a big world. There’s talent out there. Maybe we should find and go for players who aren’t already competing in Europe so they don’t view the move as a step down. The only one on the list who wants to come is Dibling and that’s because we are a step up from where he is at the moment. Step up and pay raise and player is interested. Shocker.

I watched his conference, he did say he thought they were making progress and getting closer on signings tbf
Yes and then he said something like he didn't want to go into more detail because they'd ask for names and specifics.

He did also say that even if there's progress he couldn't guarantee signings.

Two more injuries and we are absolutely in the mire
