Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

You’re wasting your time mate. Guy is thick and just wants to remain negative
I think there’s a lot that feel that way that aren’t, though. It’s hard to avoid that sinking feeling, especially when the season starts so soon, but if anything the fact we find ourselves here with an entirely new setup from top to bottom should say something about the external issues in getting any transfers done these days, let alone on the scale we need.

The club has to take its share of the blame, like. Getting the team in place in advance of the end of the season would have changed the picture to some extent, but I very much doubt completely.

Just depressing that a time of the footy calendar that used to be yellow tie-wearing, dildo-waving fun has all gone a bit dour.

You realise that in the last 8 or so months there is a new manager, entirely new ownership and recruitment team?

Who is the “they” lying to us? Moreover, why would anybody go to great expense, the chronic faff of financing, due diligence, recruitment, etc, in order to hoodwink a bunch of frustrated arl fellas on the internet?

Very clearly things aren’t happening nearly as quickly as we’d like them to, but I can categorically promise you that it’s not down to some shadowy cabal who spend hundreds of millions of pounds just to troll high blood pressure footy fans for the LOLZ.

No it’s just owners who aren’t here to win.

I’m picturing Dan Friedkin trawling football fan sites looking for the perfect target.

And then he settled on Everton after seeing @davek and @Bally1989 posting histories
They basically go for anything in the Premier League. It’s the gold standard for these investors. Long term they’ll be looking to jack prices up and take money out of the business.

People think all the investing will go on for ever, but they are all just trying to crystallize their position and then pull up the drawbridge.

American owners don’t really care much per se about winning. It’s all about extracting maximum profit over the long term.

Ohhhh sorry mate, yeah. I neglected to consider that they might have dropped a few hundred mil, put the time and effort in to source and hire a new recruitment team and then just decide at the last minute that they wanted to sack off the winning bit altogether and let their investment completely crash and burn.

Makes sense now you say it.

No just picture him coming to make a quick profit without much capital outlay and you’ll shut up being smart.
They invested pushing £500m buying Moshiri’s shares, clearing debt and subscribing for new shares. They recently gave themselves the opportunity to buy more new shares up to a value of £200m (if priced the same as the previous new share issue). If that is “without much capital outlay” to you I wish I had your bank balance!

They have protected their investment, they will be able to realise the stadium value in a years time and be able to sell for a healthy profit.

It’s smart and a good investment but doesn’t help us win does it because that’s what we are all in this for seeing our club win.

Ignore him, he's... suspect.
