Agreed
I'm pretty happy with how it looks though, both separate entity's, i wouldn't want either club using the other as a feeder or a player farm though.
Both ourselves and Roma are massive institutions (Roma are probably the better known worldwide to ourselves, being the main team from the capital, but we probably have a bigger opportunity for profit as we are a PL club)
Imho they've already bought the "feeder" club, it's just not ready yet.
I'm talking about AS Cannes, perfect for developing players once promoted to ligue 1 or at least ligue 2. Last season they've missed promotion to the third level because they focused too much on the French cup, reaching the semifinals. But this season should be the right one.
The costs for running a club in the French first Division are relatively low - so you can spend a lot on training grounds, youth staff - and Cannes has a rich history as a development club (Zidane et alii). In addition to that, France offers a quieter environment than both Italy and the UK and gives access to an enormous pool to draw from for recruiting young players. Also, I think Cannes fans would be more than happy to stand at midtable in ligue 1, massive improvement for them.
In 2-3 years, I can see Cannes stuffed with Roma and Everton young players plus some local prospects that could be either sold externally or shipped to the 2 main clubs once developed. It seems logical to me. And feasible.
Btw Roma and Everton there might be cooperation, but it would be foolish to subject one to another. And frankly impossible, as you'd have to deal with big, highly mobilised fanbases. Cannes will likely work as TFG development team.
