Transfer Rumour Kenny Tete

I hate it when London is used as a selling point to players. We, along with many other clubs, obviously cannot match that so we are immediately at a disadvantage in negotiations.

Players should want to play for the club, not the city. Sometimes it is made out that London is some kind of footballers paradise when in reality it is not.
London is great if your rich I'd say

I think we have to recover our reputation mate, there is a whole generation out there for whom Everton have been a laughing stock in the PL for much of their lives, since Moyes left in 2013 really. Anyone 20-22 now playing, Everton have been brutal for their adolescence and young adulthoods.

We’ve a job of work recovering our reputation, we’l do it - but not without some knocks in the market.

Like Radzinski before him, Kenny will regret picking Fulham if he does, I’ve no doubt about that.
When you talk about our reputation don't forget the club have not confirmed or denied their interest in the player, it's rare that they do tbf

He’s got a child. If he’s settled in London and his kid is at a good school etc then moving across the country to Liverpool is quite the change for him and his family. I get that moving around can often come with the territory as a footballer but it’s certainly going to be a consideration.
If we offer more money he comes here in my opinion.

If his agent does job he'll up with the best contract possible, which is ultimately what he's there to do.

One thing I would say is if drags on into the weekend I'd leg him and look elsewhere.

As it’s a #newera we will get him signed, don’t panic lads.
New Era or Old Era, a "verbal agreement" means absolutely nothing.

There was no way that it was going to hold up in today's football cesspool of greedy agents and players whose only loyalty is to the Pound.

We might still sign him but will have to offer more money than Fulham if we feel he is worth the increase to our original offer, whatever that may have been.

Would not get into a bidding war at all, if true he gave his word, what's to stop him breaking it again.

I read we've offered better terms but Fulham's new offer is a lot closer now (still not matching though). It'll come down to what the player wants, as someone has already said he might have a family and is already settled down there... equally he may be keen for a new challenge. He's 29, he's been at Fulham a while and he might just want something new. Ultimately the club haven't done anything wrong and if the player choses to stay in London it is what it is.

It is really though. If you're a French speaking African Muslim youngster you'll find community there, you won't find that outside of London. Same for lots of other ethnic minority groups.
