2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

His bird will probably cause issues elsewhere too, by the way.

A tale as old as time.

She’s a wrong’un.
Definitely stand by for an exclusive with her when he leaves.
"Dom's nightmare with nasty scousers"
"3rd best striker to play at Goodison and they hounded him out"
"No song for Dom"
Do you think I can get a bet on with Paddy Power?
No issue with him, he just isn't what we need.

"No Song For Dom"! We used to have one, I think it was based on a song in the little Dennis Waterman sketch in Little Britain where he used to "Write the feme tune, sing the feme tune" etc, anyway, it was "Dominic Calvert Lewin...Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo....He doesn't know what he's doin'.... Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo". (might need some work to be fair). He did come on a bit after that to be fair to the lad.

He should have had Bailey Peacock-Farrell's song.

"He's got no song, coz his name's too long, Baiiiiley Peacock-Farrell"

I’m not sure why there’s some unrest in this thread.

The lad doesn’t want to be here. He’s not enough to be the main man for a number of reasons.

He’s had his moments - thank him and move on.
People have got side tracked about things that have F all to do with him as a player. He's just not that good, Beto isn't perfect but he's a nuisance for opposition players. DCL doesn't create goals, and only scores goals, when it's put right on a plate for him. He doesn't have same passion as Beto for Everton. Add to that he's injured half the season.

I’m not overly comfortable with the celebrating and all that.

I mean I don’t think he should get a contract that he would think is acceptable but he did do some good things for us.

Sure he missed goals, got crocked but I genuinely couldn’t critise his effort.

Prob for the best that he move on but think of the good things appreciate it an move on

I’ve been told all this time that we’re misusing him by playing him that way though? So what actually is the preferred style that he’d like to fit into?

I think he would probably suit a team who get it into his feet, but also get balls into the box.

I do think a lot of this discussion is around Dyche just being a very bad manager for strikers.

Id always thought it was considered he was better in the air than on the ground? Many teams these days focus on quick, slick passing moves (all at feet stuff) rather than byline type wide men swinging crosses in, I agree, what is the best/preferred style for him?

I'm not sure it's entirely true. He links plays well. If you look at his goal under Moyes, we fed it into him and he finished well.

But by good in the air, we weren't putting lots of high quality crosses in under Dyche we were just lumping long aimless balls.
