Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I disagree with the narrative that Moyes is indecisive or a ditherer.
He is certainly thorough though
.
He has never been in a comfortable financial position that would allow him to make risky signings , and therefore this feeds the impression of indecisiveness.
Would I rather have this situation , or the reckless abandon of Koeman and Walsh. Absolutely Moyesey !
Isn't that just semantics?

Premier league summer series July 26th

After Accrington Stanley & Blackburn we head to The United States to play Bournemouth, West Ham and Man United.

This is 6 weeks away and we probably need 6-8 players in by then.

Surely 1 signing a week from now?
It’s absolutely irrelevant if someone signs now or in 2/3 weeks time. As we don’t come back together for pre season until the 3/4th July anyway.

I haven’t followed Moyes’ transfer dealings since he left Everton, but he was never the most decisive. So given that and us basically having a whole new recruitment structure, those expecting us to have a flurry of deals lined up for the start of July are going to be disappointed.

I think the majority of our signings will be late July or August. Would be nice to have a squad capable and prepared to win Premier League games to start a season, as that wasn’t the case under Dyche.
The rumour is, this will be the busiest July in years, so you maybe disappointed or pleasantly surprised

But how has it passed the PL PSR? No way it should.... Womens team is deductable, that is widely known.

It's an asset they they sold ( to themselves) just as if it was a player. Its another loophole the league missed as not many clubs would really gamble on it.

It's also a one off for them. They're out of assets but the rules are changing

The knock on effect is that the clubs voted against closing the loophole and a reason why we've kept Goodison Park open.

There seems to be no reason why deals arent able to be concluded now and post dated for July.
It's more about agents fees and signing on fees etc, I only recently discovered - the contract amortization works over the length of any contract and depreciates monthly from an accounting perspective - so that in itself wouldn't preclude a transfer prior to 1st July

Any money which gets shelled out on agents fees and signing on fees (which will amount to millions on any deal) is a one off cost which would have to be booked in this financial year if we finalise a transfer prior to 1st July, which we'd prefer to avoid, clearly and that's the main reason it's less likely we'd see something in this financial year.
