Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I mean, we've made a transfer profit every window for about 6 windows (I think it might be 10 windows) and the squad has got steadily worse . But, yeah, I suppose we have signed (bad) players. Well done you. We're now left with 14 players under contract so we'll have to sign some players, probably somewhere between 8-10, with limited cash. History shows us that people are right to worry about who those players are and when in the window we will sign them but I'm sure you'll be along to tell them to stop "wetting the bed" when they do so.
It’s people wetting the bed before the window is even open, or a week or two in that I point out. The same as the ones who say, every season for five years, that we are going down. It is pure bed wetting

Except you say it right up to window's end. Every single window. "Bedwetter" is the laziest insult on this forum. Especially when it comes to transfers. Unless you think we've actually got better over the past five years worth of transfer windows, in which case you're right, everyone complaining about the transfers is a bedwetter (and you have lost your mind).

Nope, I point out bed wetting by people when it’s clear that what they are doing - things like ‘go with what we’ve got’ or ‘Paul dikov’ - we have always made signings in every window apart from one!

I’ve been fairly clear about it. Bed wetting this week for instance is exactly that.

Just like the relegation bed wetters - how can you say we are down or we go with what we got while both are untrue? The occasional line, fair enough, but this was daily by some people, every season - bed wetting

Anyway, its mate, I’m off to actually wet the bed

August 31! Still time. Chill ffs. Bed wetters.

Might as well get Walker-Peters in for free as he's a proven but average decent Premier League player, and that's more than good enough for a player who can fill in two positions naturally at full back: A damn sight better than needing to play Patterson, Young or Coleman and probably on par with Mykolenko.

He wouldn't be commanding a huge salary and would very likely accept a two-year contract with club option for a third.

He's 28 now, so in his prime and we don't need to worry about resale value with him available for free. That'd be a very smart first summer signing imo. If we don't act right now he'll probably end up at Bournemouth or Fulham or something and look like a very smart player next season.

Additionally, Tyrick Mitchell, 25, is available on a free transfer it seems from Palace, an almost ever-present for them last season at left back. Linked with a lot of clubs far better than us. Don't know all that much about him, but Palace had a good season, won the FA Cup and played the entire game. Could be somebody else to look at anyway.

I didn’t expect us to sign anyone until July but thus far, I can’t see anything legitimate in any of the links.

Perhaps I am being stupid, or perhaps TFG keep things under wraps.

We need at least 6, good quality players coming into the squad. An awful lot of work to be done.
So far TFG have kept most info under wraps, see no reason won’t be same with transfers

Tyrick Mitchell has apparently signed a new deal until 2027.

We probably should, but at first we have more urgent positions to get a quality improvement at first. I guess we have 80-100m to spend.

RB, ST, RW, CM and ideally more depth and back ups than this season. Majority of money should go into our offense, as this was clearly the bigger problem than the defense in the last few years.

Cant ignore defence. Have to build on the strong foundation.

I know many are talking about Diarra after watching Senegal tonight and we’ve been linked, played well, but I was actually more impressed with Lamine Camara in midfield.

Ive been posting about him for 2 years. He moved for a bargain fee last summer though we should still be able to get both him and Diarra for under £40mil.

Im not fussed on the AFCON as 'big picture' we're building for the long term (hopefully).
