Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Wolves had Neves and Moutinho as their two in the middle for a number of years and neither one had a yard of pace between them, they were just both very good players. Way too much is made of the pace thing at times imo.
I agree to an extent. I think people get hung up on the things we lack in a physical sense because they're so used to what we lack in a technical sense being the norm and feel like we need the physical stuff to get around that. It does obviously affect how you can set up etc though, and pace is a pretty key asset for some positions.

I just posted about this guy in the Doak chat. Who is he ? Watched Jocks game last night sporadically and I liked what I saw from him. Admittedly it was Latverianschitzrlstein so oppo not up to much.
18 year old that plays for Motherwell. Usually operates centrally and I think his future is as an 8, box to box player. Lots of potential and his pressing for the second goal shows his place in the modern game and PL.

Agreed. Scholes and Xavi were hardly the most athletic. It’s about having a blend of attributes in the team and lack of pace in one player can be overcome by positioning and anticipation.

Talking about players that aren't strikers doing well as number 9s for Moyes.... Arnautovic is out of contract. Must be a better option than Antonio.

Btw.. Been any talk about Tammy Abraham in here? Still under contract with Roma and did nothing on loan for AC Milan last season. If the new Roma coach Gasperini doesn't want him, I can see him coming on loan as an alternative to DCL.

hopefully this one is just an agent trying to drum up business for his player, linking us with 35 year old Michail Anthonio on a free. I cant see that to be honest, the fact he is still recovering from a broken leg after that car crash 6 months ago and his age hopefully rules us out.
It doesn't make any sense - the club would just offer DCL more money than offer a contract to a injury prone 35 year old coming off a potentially career ending injury. Similar links to Coufal - the club would have surely just offered Ashley Young more money if they want an old washed full back on a one year contract (Coufal that is not Young who was pretty good last season given his age). I just think it's lazy journalism looking for clicks but I could be wrong.
