As of today, we only have 13 first team players under contract, probably the only club in world football right now with such a small squad. It is imperative to see action in the next few days if we want to give moyes the tools he needs in pre season to be successful. I can see us going into pre season with a squad full of u21s to make up the numbers which for me is unacceptable. Not only it affects the u21s development but it is not helping moyes to build his system with players coming in throughout July and august. So far, not so great from Angus and company...
All loan
We have far better than Gomez, wouldn't give the reds more psr room for him.
no point quoting football insider…may as well as your dog who were signing

Didn’t we have a ridiculously small squad at the start of one of our seasons under Moyes.

Think we lost to Blackburn at home with Baines playing left wing, Jose Baxter our single sub used and the rest of bench unknowns form u21’’s.

Got a massive job on his hands. Needs to use the loan market to the fullest, few freebies to bump up the squad in certain areas and spend any money we have on first team starters.

We've had £30mil available since the Delap bid. It's a bit odd that we wouldnt just immediately shift attention to McAtee as soon as we were turned down by Delap.

He and McAtee are apparently close friends so it also seems a bit odd to me that we didnt go for both at the same time.

If we could get McAtee super (I've not really paid much attention to him other than @bluestevon praising him many times) and Grealish as well...wow.

They would also bring the winning mentality (aside from this season) Guardiola instills in his sides.

Nico o'Reilly although an ACM may not get a look in there, nor at LB. Could he be another option? Rico Lewis is one who i wonder why he doesnt seem to get much praise but he seems to be Guardiolas pet.

Those 3 + Grealish on loan would be a massive gamechanger, however unlikely. The city players seem to be lab grown.
There is a separate issue of City being close to the required number of home grown players. I don’t know the situation too in depth (obviously) but they may have to retain some of their younger talents to comply. McAtee is out to contract next year and Grealish has been ineffective for a few years so it makes sense to shop them out. I wouldn’t expect too many of their best academy lads to leave, especially given O’Reilly was actually doing well in the senior squad. Just something that may be a factor in their outgoings.
