In reality, while Pickford is here Harry Tyrer isn't going to challenge him, so while he's made a steady progression up the leagues, i'd look to loan him out again and hope he proves himself like he has, could eventually lead to £8-10m for him
The only reason we should ever consider signing Danny Ward is as thanks for his uselessness being a primary factor in keeping us up at Leicester’s expense.

Thankfully, I believe he is off to Wrexham.

If Pickford got injured the prospect of Danny Ward ever making it onto the pitch is genuinely frightening. We’ve ran the risk of not having a decent backup keeper for ages as Pickford’s fitness is so good but we do need to get someone that could actually play PL football well if called upon.

Chelsea is a mad one have alot of cm would be worth trying for some of them.

Andrey Santos is the one mate. The others will be on insane wages and would me mad to leave. They can stay there for a few years and have generational wealth.

It’s funny because you were saying that Thelwell had absolutely nothing to do with the O’Brien signing. Until he actually started to look a decent player, and then it was magically all down to Thelwell.

I dont think Thelwell signed him.

Though youre right, occasionally i do lump him in to win a point.

We need more of that on the pitch. A winning mentality ;) :p

FFS lads, was just some zat bait.

I said at the end, I thought KT did ok with his limited funds.

You come for El Presidente, you best not miss.

Was Youssef Chermiti properly scouted? The player had hardly played any football before we went in for him. Has a slight whiff of one of those dodgy Martínez-esque signings. Enigma. I remember at the time, journalists were quite surprised we went in for him, describing him as very raw and more of a youth team player, etc. Strange.

Chermiti was a highly rated prospect in Sportings youth team.

They had a striker 'crisis' and it was between him and another chap who would be promoted.

Chermiti was also being offered a new contract at the time.

So he told Amorim that he would extend only if guaranteed game time.

He signed, got his game time and then got his move to Everton.

As a young development player under Dyche (Dyche literally stated he wasnt for that season) he would be a long term prospect.

Year one: Adapting. But at the end of last season he looked promising with some great touches, movement and tracking back.

Preseason: Scoring goals and people were excited. He then got a very bad injury.

Year two: He came back into the squad and got another injury. Didnt really have a chance.

His time with Everton has been unlucky.

I hope he goes to Holland or somewhere on loan and stays injury free.

I read the same nonsense about Branthwaite being crap...it was obvious he wasnt...

To be fair, i never factored Pickford getting injured and him actually having to play in my list.
Take Danny Ward off

Surprised we didn't move for Olsen while he was available.

Jake O'Brien was decent at RB. I'm sure he'd be happier playing that role than sitting on the bench waiting for a chance at CB.
There's no need for that to be the case though. Tarkowski's good don't get me wrong, but quite why some people want to act like there's no possible way he doesn't come straight back into the starting XI the second he's fit I don't know. He's a decent PL centre half who'll be pretty much 33 by the time he comes back, we're not talking about trying to displace prime Cannavaro.
