Same dont see him out wide aswell see him as the 10 in the team is a risk. But for a loan if we can make a deal with the money that doesnt go over the top and limit us in the window with players coming in. Would be a risk but the lad does have talent would certainly improve this team imo
The way I see it, with 2 years left on his contract....
Even if they loaned him this season and paid £250k a week of his wages (£12.5m) next season he will be in the last year of his deal and nearly 31, they couldn`t get any sort of fee and realistically he is sitting on £350k per week, why wouldn`t you.
I think City want rid and not a loan, we can`t afford to buy him and we can only afford to loan him if City want to chuck in £12.m a season compared to our c£5m...
Most likely to end up in Saudi or a top 6 side who can pay that sort of wage, the only club he takes a wage cut for is Villa...
If he has ambitions for England that will need to be in European competition according to Tuchel... which also counts us out.If we got him on loan i'd say Ndiaye, Alcaraz and even Garner may find that they need to up their games. They would all benefit though.
Which club would he go to? Because I think he'd need to play in the premier league and be almost assured to start most if not all games.
He improves us no doubt but we don't really need another slow midfielder who doesn't score or assist much and doesn't run in behind. Other areas are more of a priority and what is the opportunity cost of signing him? KDB would takes us up a level. Grealish is massively overrated. You don't think Jack Grealish on loan for 12months takes the team up a level?
Because I do![]()
If money wasnt an issue Id take both. Turning our noses up at Grealish is wild, we were fighting relegation 6months agoHe improves us no doubt but we don't really need another slow midfielder who doesn't score or assist much and doesn't run in behind. Jonathan Rowe?
Marseille have an obligation to buy him at the end of his loan
But it is an issue and he wouldn’t be value for money even if he hits the heights of his best season at Villa and City pay half his wages. He’s decent but he’s not a top level player. If money wasnt an issue Id take both. Turning our noses up at Grealish is wild, we were fighting relegation 6months ago

Sorry Mate not having a go, but what does a “roster spot” mean.I'm surprised to see all of the Grealish talk, and the constant refrain that we need a starting right winger, when we don't even play that way. Moyes plays a 4-2-3-1, with two inside forwards on either side of the 10, and the glaring need is for an attacking right back, along with at least some competition for Mykolenko on the left. The creativity and versatility of Ndiaye, Alcaraz and McNeil across the front behind Beto is going to make a world of difference, and what we've missed in this system is fullbacks with who can deliver the ball. Mykolenko really improved by the end of the season, so there's hope there.
On a related note, Patterson is an unfortunate story. He's still fairly young, and when he hasn't been injured, he's spent most of his time filling a roster spot rather than going out on loan to see if he could develop into a player. I'm afraid the club have squandered his potential, the same as they've been doing with Chermiti. If you believe in young players like that, you have to give them experience.
