Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

If you take the 3 attacking midfield positions:

LW
ACM
RW

We have Ndiaye, Alcaraz and McNeil.

There are 2 additional players required.

We have loads of positions to fill with young players but we also need others to push us up the league immediately.

Grealish coming in at £150k wages and a loan fee 'could' catapult us up the league for one season on loan.

His ability to drive forward with the ball and his desire to win could rub off on the other players -- improving multiple players with one single loan signing.

Media attention would be there as well, which impacts games shown on TV at I think a value of £1mil a pop(?).

For me, a loan of Jack Grealish is a no brainer.
He ain’t James Rodriguez mate. He’s a decent player no doubt, but he’s not a next level player.

Perhaps but I just don`t see it happening... the finances on the deal don`t work for us.

Who knows. They loaned Philipps and clearly arent bothered about PSR.

No one is buying Grealish in the premier league this summer. Pep wants him moved on and Grealish needs game time to force his way back into the England squad.

I would expect him to move on loan somewhere for a fee of circa £10mil (incl his wages %).

You don't think Jack Grealish on loan for 12months takes the team up a level?

Because I do :)
Same dont see him out wide aswell see him as the 10 in the team is a risk. But for a loan if we can make a deal with the money that doesnt go over the top and limit us in the window with players coming in. Would be a risk but the lad does have talent would certainly improve this team imo

The way I see it, with 2 years left on his contract....

Even if they loaned him this season and paid £250k a week of his wages (£12.5m) next season he will be in the last year of his deal and nearly 31, they couldn`t get any sort of fee and realistically he is sitting on £350k per week, why wouldn`t you.

I think City want rid and not a loan, we can`t afford to buy him and we can only afford to loan him if City want to chuck in £12.m a season compared to our c£5m...

Most likely to end up in Saudi or a top 6 side who can pay that sort of wage, the only club he takes a wage cut for is Villa...

….yep, probably more ignorant than ageist. Just some posters categorising those they disagree with, thinking themselves as cool dudes who are always right
People are allowed to disagree with you, Eggs. It's funny that you're getting all defensive whilst doing exactly what you're accusing others of. You have an opinion, others have a different opinion. Tagging them, presumably to mock them (as you did with @Encoder earlier today) or snarkily calling people "cool dudes" because you don't like them disagreeing with you isn't so different from labelling someone an Everton Da, is it?
