Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

No idea if he is any good, but we could do with signing a right-back.

He’s class like. And you’d absolutely love him, skilful, pacey, but absolutely loves a tackle. Proper old school in that regard.

Unfortunately for you (my head says at least!) we’ve just been promoted obviously and this is his agent getting him a wage bump I’d guess.

Had we stayed down, you should have been all over him!

It is all just the media wanting to sell our players for us, yet again. I am sick of it. Playing for us should be viewed as a prestigious opportunity, as we are one of the most successful clubs in the history of the top flight with a long and storied presence.
100% this.

They can't have Everton breaking the glass ceiling and setting standards again..

Well F em, Everton aren't we.

I reckon your side should be able to keep hold of some of your players, since they will probably be up for the challenge of trying to keep you up. Yet I could see one or two jumping ship sooner rather than later.

I mean this in a nice way ...

Unfortunately for you, Everton or Sunderland?

Look Rich mate, I appreciate I'm on an Everton forum talking to Everton fans, so I don't want to overreach my welcome here. And I say this with the upmost of respect, as someone who really likes your club (and someone who values proper football discussion). But I ask you have some respect for my club here.

I get exactly where you're coming from, you're a a Premier League stalwart with a glorious history and a new stadium. But this is a lad who has risen through the leagues with us from League One, who by all accounts is still in Ibiza celebrating with ten of his teammates in a team that is apparently more together then anyone has seen in recent Sunderland memory, a lad who was scouted and given his chance at Sunderland from the League of Northern Ireland, a lad who will probably play in a stadium that will have near enough a 46k average next season & a club with a fairly impressive history itself (not your levels of course).

Most importantly though we're a club with 100m+ in the bank, a billionaire owner ourselves, and apparently we have more headroom for spending then yourself or many others according to Kieran Maguire the football finance expert - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cwynpzwk38po

Yes we're heading back down, but I'd wager he'd quite fancy staying at a club he's settled at, with a manager/ team he likes, and if we fail he'll be off then - like most others who are promoted. If I'm wrong I will hold my hands up of course. It's not like when Luton or Huddersfield were unexpectedly promoted in my eyes.

Great story mate

It'll be a sad day when he leaves you and joins us.

Only joking mate, I hope the majority of your side stick around and give the PL a good go 👍
