Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I would be very encouraged by the Josh Brownhill links if true. Negotiations apparently are stalling with Parker/Burnley. Maybe Burnley's best player last campaign. And maybe most important, fairly analogous to Doucoure albeit I'd argue with a bit better goal scoring knack and being in his prime oppose to exiting it.

Listen these aren't the world beaters but they are spine and depth assurance that's going to be an element of this windows signings one way or the other. And when we have to fill so many holes with a limited budget, a link to one of the best free agents on the market, whose fit is very conceivable I'd argue is savvy business by Moyes and Co. At 29 we are seeing his best years over this next deal if there ends up an agreement.

The strategy in the market should be acquiring appreciating value assets, but I'd argue that goal is buoyed when the veteran adds are quality and come on the free oppose to eating some of the transfer budget. Someone like Brownhill offers more allocation elsewhere.

We shall see how much merit is in the rumors but I think that'd be great signing for us on the free.
We have 3 cm maybe 4 if Alcaraz plays there rather than in the 10 role. We need a top quality partner for Gana. Unless Tim is loaned or sold or Garner is sold I don't really see the point in bringing Brownhill in unless Moyes sees him as backup in the number 10 role

….wonder if some names are regurgitated from previous windows.

Manor Solomon is the Championship winger we’re now linked with (Leeds on loan from Spurs). Israeli international.

Hmm, screams recency bias this rumour. 3 goals, 5 assists in Leeds' final 6 games but there was an 8 game spell beforehand with nothing.

I'd argue the peak performance of the average player falls between age 27 to 32. He's 29, 30 come December, the contract will likely not surpass 4 years. Thats 5 months out of that window, at age 33 come that 4th year. It’s reasonable to suggest 3/4ths of this deal will be his best years.
You can argue that, most of the studies on it say otherwise.

He’ll be 30 and his best seasons have come in the lower leagues. If he comes in and starts matches for us, we’re much worse off than anyone imagined.

Is there any chance we exploit/explore the multi club model and trade with Roma?

Even if it was a 1 year Loan or min fee swap a few players?

They seem to have a fairly big squad and ours is thin. Love to see us upset a few opposition fans if we brought Pellegrini or their forward in for nothing.
