Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Not a chance Moyes goes in first Stones. He’s been clear that he wants players who are resilient, always available more often than not. For the wage cost & injury record alone, there is not a chance he ends up here. Some romantic nonsense rumour about his return, cos it’s silly season and the window has opened temporarily. More chance of Jon Jones signing on a bosman from the UFC so he doesn’t have to fight Tom Aspinall.

100% strike rate. Sniff it grifters. Anyone any good at setting up a podcast and a patreon account?

Stones managed more than 25 Premier League appearances just once since joining Man City. And that was his debut season, 27 appearances.

That alone dictates no chance he'd be a replacement for Branthwaite if we sold him. We aren't that stupid.

If the links are true, he'd be a cover for CB/DM.

We'll go for an Esteve type for Branthwaite replacement if he goes.

I’d like to see us move for Esteve regardless tbh, he’s a good player.

However it’s not impossible to predict some sort of scenario that sees City take Branthwaite off us and send Stones our way, we plough the cash into Burnley for Esteve, Keane finds his way back to Burnley.

Mate, they'd try suing us again if they went down.

I’d more worry that if they’re true then Branthwaite is leaving.

Stones wouldn’t join us to sit on the bench, he’s absolutely top class, he’d want guaranteed first team football prior to the World Cup.

Depends on fitness of course. The only advantage i can see would be for him to bring on Stones and Obrien in a different way to Tarkowski.

Simply because hes goijg to add long term value that way.

Whereas IGG is good, obviously depending on price but if you can get IGG to rub off on him I think he will become a very good player.

Hes never been one for positional sense, Gana. Used to run around like a headless chicken.

Premier league but lets not forget Champions league and cups.

For me, Stones would be an ace signing IF and only if he adds value to Branthwaite and OBrien's development.

If he could play 25 games its probably worth it as a rotation option. Doesnt need to play every game. Also could play DM while Armstrong is developing.
