Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I’m actually coming round to the Hamer deal if we could make it work for a decent price. Moyes would have him fully fit absolutely no question. He’s got pace, and technique. I think he’d link well with Ndiaye and Alcaraz, could be an exciting area of the pitch if they all dovetailed.

I mentioned him before at Coventry mate I always thought he was someone who could step up to be at an effective PL level.

I’m sure not many watched him last year for Sheff Utd, he was very good he’s a real little battler - like Cahill a terrier, but he’s got that left flies creativity and goal scoring threat.

If you look at his numbers I the PL they were quite good and influential - given the team he wa play in g is so he’s done at this level only opinion. We certainly shouldn’t be turning our noses up at him, I think he improves the squad.

The take home and perhaps comfort for me from the Delap shenanigans is we can make a transfer for £30 mill pound if we want to.

That’s a Morgan Gibbs White - to Forest deal if were that clever.
Well that was obvious,
We can probably do 3x 30mil transfers
Also we were very close to getting Gibbs white. But at the time wolves kept saying not for sale and by the time he was later in the window we’d moved on

Ask yourself why he’s spent all his career in the lower leagues? Bar one season and he’s 28. Not had a sniff of a Dutch cap, Klassen has 40, van de beek has 20. Hamer is nowhere good enough for where we want to go, if we’re just looking to finish 17th as dyche would say then yes let’s buy him, and brownhill , Longstaff, get Harrison back etc

At the current pace, not sure moyes will be able to take holidays. We are incredibly ineffective in closing deals. Will be interesting to see the size of the squad when we start pre season.
To be fair the window isn’t actually open yet and none of our new recruitment team have officially got to work/been announced yet so we have no idea of their ability to close deals. I do agree though, we need to move quickly and ideally have 3/4 through the door by the end of June so they can be bedded in during pre season.

According to a lot of reports, Mainoo is likely to leave because United are unwilling to match his demands of over £150k a week for a new contract.

Garnacho is a bad egg imo, look at how his attitude has been this season, and even in their recent post-season games - pretty shocking. He's on about £50k at the moment, but obviously would deem himself to be worthy of matching their top earners' salaries on a new deal.

Swerve the pair of them. The only United 'reject' we should have gone for was McTominay.
I would happily give Garnacho DCL’s wage and parity with our to earners as he would be well worth it.

I also agree about McTominay and actively said so at the time, though GOT decided he was a talentless Yard dog squad player and wanted him nowhere near the exciting brand of free flowing football Dyche had us playing.
Neither will/would have come here however. The only thing we have going for us in terms of players Utd are trying to get rid of, is that we are in the North West, so they would have to move house/kid’s schools etc

Anyone thinking of selling JB for less than £100 mill is a clown.

If Chelsea are serious then it’s £100 mill +, they have been and still are spending like sailors ffs, make them pay.

He’s Proven PL quality ant a great age and then add English tax.

Hopefully He stays for a long time, future Everton captain.

Doubt we’d get anywhere near him to be honest, Arsenal or Chelsea would gobble him up.

He wouldn’t get in either side.
Nice little player but benefits from being a local lad and performances/effort compared to the ageing Eriksen and Casimero. I’d argue that Angel Gomes has a better skill set.
Reports are he wants £150k+ a week.

Mainoo would be great for us. A real modern midfielder who gets up and down the pitch, likes a tackle and can score a few as well. He'd be loved at Everton.

I`d take Kobbie Mainoo, 2 years learning alongside IGG could be great for his development.

Mainoo looks pretty, but seems a bit passive without the ball. Sure I read he was the most dribbled past cm or something like that

Mainoo lacks positional sense

Also I’d say this on Illy mate, I love Illy and was his biggest advocate on here before we signed him, but he’s not as creative as many people think or assume.

Illy is brilliant but his main strength is goal scoring and getting the ball up the pitch, he actually doesn’t create that much for others or assist. Which is fine, but we need more assists in the team.

So whatever positions we target in recruitment we have to target and bring in more creativity and assists into the team whether that be at 7,10, 8 or full backs.

Assists and creativity have to be added to the team.
