Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Winning the Conference league with their squad is like Man City winning the Johnson's Paint Trophy.

Fairly sure their budget eclipsed every single team in that competition.

It eclipsed all of them combined probably.

You'll come across one or two handy sides in this at the later stages, but if we were in it I'd be pretty disappointed if we didn't win it as well.

I think if we don't sign Delap, we won't necessarily prioritise a striker. In the position we're in, it has to be a case of the best players we can convince to join, whether that's in midfield, up front or even full back. If we could sign an amazing left back for £40 million it would be worth it as we could transform the way we play. We can't offer European football or the chance to play with amazing players, or even a renowned manager, so we have to take the best we can get who will join us.
If we were splashing out £40m I don`t think left back is where we need to spend it, since we have a vacancy at RB it might be better filling that spot.

we won’t be spending 40 on a left back

I’m sure we can find an improvement on Mykolenko offensively for around 20

In what world would all the clubs be offering the same wage? Not a chance.

Everton won’t be offering the same wage as united or Chelsea.
Of course they will be. The wage will be circa £100k (maybe a fraction below) wherever he goes. Other sides won't be throwing £200k a week at him.

The choice is to be a starter for a mid-table side with a bigger release clause and a chance to make build a name, or to be a squad member for a side in European competition and fight for a place.

Not a wish list as such but players I think we can attract and would improve squad.

Karim Konate
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
Harrison Burrows
Jacob Greaves
Nick Woltemade (genuinely never heard of him til this week but I like it)
Habib Diarra

Few loans and not an awful window. No doubt some will disagree.

We have a starting left back, we desperately need a starting right back (and cover for both)

In fact, we have a completely non-existing right hand side (as has been the case for years)

Our left back used to be our most creative player. Our current left back creates and scores virtually nothing, so if an amazing player became available in that position, indeed in any position other than maybe centre half, we should take advantage.

Just wonder if obrien will be the starting rb again then still gives us a chance to go out get a rb who is more attacking.

You kno we dont have any backup wingers with pace take mcneil ndiaye who will be gone for the acon. Who plays in that position, i agree we do need another lb so can fight to start

My point wasn't that she would should prioritise a left back, as we have an ok left back who can defend quite well. My point was if we get the chance to sign an amazing player in any position, we should sign them, with the only exception probably being goalkeeper and centre half.
