Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Wages aren't discussed enough in terms of bidding for a player for example buying someone like Doak for what looks like a rip off 20m but on £50,000 a week is a total package of 32m over 5 years including wages.

Where as someone like Grealish on his current £300,000 a week is £78 million over 5 years before a transfer fee is even paid.

Clubs factor in the "total package" more than just a transfer fee like fans do.
Its a rip off as he is a £!0-12m player at best, its the Anfield tax that makes him £20m.

Just got hope have a good scouting team who can find better suited to the league. I kno both stikers haller and samacca have good records wheb they have left with goals
Every club have a good scouting team these days. Still they make quite a few mistakes when it comes to signing strikers from overseas.

But you could see how we would be willing to pay a slightly inflated fee if the wages are relatively low.

We'll be looking at the total cost including the wages not just the fee that's why some of these free transfers you see aren't worth getting at all cause you end up paying it all back anyway in signing on fees and inflated wages.

The wages/signing on fees are the hidden part that we never count or really talk about but they're just as important as the fee paid.

Delap goes to Chelsea and grown men go to absolute bits on here.

Starting to lose serious faith in humanity.
Not really arsed either way on Delap but just find it weird he would chose Chelsea. With Jackson being a better striker and them rumoured to be in for Ekitike too) He banking a lot with a club that seems like a bit of a graveyard for players that don’t end up clicking straight away in the team.

I think career wise we'd have been the better option for him.

Good luck to him.
