Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

From Sheffield United, I think we should consider their left back Harrison Burrows.

23 years old who moved during last summer from Peterborough where he was named Player of the Season and Supporter Player of the Year.

His disallowed goal in the Playoffs meant he missed out on the Prem but he has a lot of what we want in a full back:
Pace
Passing
Crossing

Accept Garner isn't very good and even worse out of position, in fact what is his best position?
His best performance in an Everton shirt was playing RB in the Doucoure/Bournemouth game. He’s a decent squad filler, but I thought he was gonna be everything Adam Wharton has turned out to be. Hasn’t reached anywhere near that level.

Is strange as has said he was good at rb but doesnt want to play in that position, what frustrates me about him is that he does have a solid game. Is more his defensive side but when he has a chance to get on the ball and take control does not do enough. Esp with alcaraz in the 10 position has players infront now better on the ball so must inprove

Been saying this on here for yonks.

Why hasn’t Micky Keane been released?

I think there's a chance he's still with us next year unfortunately.

We have 3 centre backs who are top half quality, making it one of our better positions for depth. I can imagine moyes being okay with him being 4th choice, as there are many other positions that need transfers more desperately.

We'll see though

He's a good premier league central midfielder. He's just bottom half PL level, and not top half PL level.

….never understand such categorisation, he could just be a player that blends into a top team. I always think about Nobby Stiles being a World Cup winner for England when far more talented players didn’t get in the side. Paul Power and Wayne Clarke were fundamental in helping us win a title.

Often a certain type of footballer is just the right fit, a cog in a wheel.

It's fairly easy to understand surely? I understand that you can think of 3 players from between 38 and 60 years ago who don't support the idea, but the concept of some players being better than others is pretty well established I think.

if his name is Harrison Burrows, then why does his shirt say Mick George 🤔👀

Must be very difficult for a midfielder passer in the Everton team with the lack of forward movement.

Happily this is improving rapidly under Moyes.

Under Dyche there was zero forward movement to create an angle or possibility for a pass.
