I don't know much about him, but can't he play deeper than that? That would make him a midfield Harper-type go-to, which might be useful for our squad rebuild focus.
Not really, he can play there but he’s not very good at tackling and his performances there drop off massively so would be a bad option if we’re playing 4231

And I will repeat what I said 2 hours ago, we need better than capable. For what he will cost and it’s been said by plenty, that he would be in the prem if he was good enough, let’s see the standard of clubs after him
For the cost of 10-15m, and a normal salary? Where pray tell are allllll these amazing players available for a team that needs to bring in half a squad in a window? He joined a PL team at 25 and played well, 4 goals and 7 assists. Who is available that did better in the league, for less?

Who was after Ndiaye when we got him? Who was after Alcaraz? "he would be in the prem if he was good enough" is really poor circular reasoning.

Ndaiye went to Marseille at 23, Alcaraz was in the prem at 20. Hamer is 28 and joined a championship side that got promoted, like he will join again. It will be a complete waste of money, we can get a free or a loan who will offer something very similar. Weren’t looking to just survive next season, were looking to kick on, that’s not happening with Hamer and we shouldn’t be spending decent money on back up 28yr olds

How do Man Utd earn more than us when we finished above them?
It’s all estimated in that anyway (according to The Athletics disclaimer at the foot of the table)
This was last years apparently.

135.2 million should cover our wage bill
Easily and with the loanees and confirmed ooc players gone we will be around £23m richer. Most if not all and above of those saved wages will be needed for incoming players wages but I don't see our wage bill going up significantly. If DCL and Keane are let go then around £9m more.
