VAR

That Villa decision is just so bad

The ball is never under control in the keeper's hands and Rogers had every right to play the ball.

If in doubt, you wait as a referee and let it go to a video replay. Just a really bad mistake.

Just seen it.
Wondering if thats at Villa Park its allowed. Possibly not as keepers do seem to be instantly protected. They need to change this VAR rule that they cant get involved if the whistles been blown. What difference does it make. One quick look at that on replay and he's changing his mind.

….there’s no level playing field when it comes to these decisions, I think it’ll all come out in the wash one day. Where there’s lots of money, there’s corruption.
I'm not sure if it's corruption or the referees fearing the media who if they make a bad decision against one of the media darling clubs they'll be called to be suspended from refereeing in all the rags and by muppets like Savage and Sutton on the radio

Stupid rule isn't it

"It's not about the decision. The decision is clear. It's a mistake. The referee apologised for the mistake. We can do nothing. The problem is why the experienced international referees were not here today."

@kenada_blue any chance you can pop into Stockley Park and explain the rules to them 😋

Play needs to stop when the whistle is blown. That’s a can of worms that can’t be opened

Said in the match thread, the refs seen it as the keeper is in control of the ball. He's touched it with both hands and its in-between his hands/arms on the ground. Thats the rules as he's interpreted and no doubt they'll role Gallagher or Webb out to say the exact same thing.

Refs are awful now purely because they relay on VAR too much, worried they'll get overturned on every decision.

Ref made this one no matter how flakey but it's justifiable. Keepers are protected now so it's no surprise.

HaHaha. If that's the case, proves how utterly gash and spineless they are. I'm here defending his decision 😂
