Thought it was a hand ball, too. And by the redf blowing his whistle too soon, VAR wasn’t allowed and cost Aston Villa a goal. Don’t know if anyone has seen that yet.
Technically, VAR couldn't intervene for the Villa goal as the ref blew before the ball went in the net.
Linesman encouraged to keep their flags down but the ref couldn't wait a few seconds so they could have a look.
 

Even with the deflection, it’s too much distance to be ball to hand. Arm is out. He takes it off Mykolenko’s foot in the box.
I see what you're saying but I'm old fashioned when it comes to handball and if its not deliberate then its incredibly harsh to be given a penalty against the defender. I hate the fact that defenders defend now with their hands behind their back because the handball law is too harsh for example
