I have always heard he wants to stay in the general area of Merseyside. This is a move that would allow him to do just that. If I look at it impartially, then I agree with you. But if I look at it like the bent blue that I am, then Hell No!

I really hope that Bainesy manages to get to the Euros, the guy deserves it. I also hope he's still with us next season - we need to be strengthening our squad, not rebuilding it.

You're joking, right? Baines is holding us back?? How about: 'Moyes is holding us back by encouraging the long ball.' Why blame Baines for having exceptional LB talent? Moyes should be building a team that is capable of running through the middle, and the right flank, as well as the left flank. That's why Drenthe is imo a massive loss, and why Moyes needs to be looking to replace him with someone of equal talent (unlikely) to cut in from the flanks and take on the central defenders.

That article surely is bollox. There's no way he'd be sold for 5m or anything like it, did they just pluck that figure out of the air? I sure hope he stays, i love the guy, one of our few really class players.
