Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

This Kneecap thing has escalated mate. Surprised it hasn't been discussed more on the forum. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. The one constant is support for Palestine and condemnation of Israel actions in Gaza. And the Hamas support and MP killing cooments appear to have been one offs. Plus they have issued apologetic statements for the latter 2. Time to move on for me.
It’s a very political one for the Forum now in light of current affairs closing.

Their comments re Hamas and the MP killings are indefensible and rightly they have apologised. They have described the media attack as co-ordinated and I agree with that. You dare not speak out against what is happening in Palestine or you are labelled an anti-semitist. I was glad to see other artists like Pulp; Weller; Primal Scream publicly support them and call out the attempt to control political expression through music. It’s hypocrisy of the highest order that the outraged haven’t uttered a word about the poor innocents in the Middle East. The Irish News (biggest selling daily) has noted this and in fact that the world needs more people like Kneecap speaking out.

What you won’t get over there is the open hostility from Unionist Politicians to use of the Irish language. Kneecap as high profile promoters of it are despised.

Only the one Blue posted which wasn't for me so didn't delve. I'll give that a listen later. These G&Ts go down far quicker when you're sat in the sun.

Fish and chips without the chips for tea. How about you.?
Tea so far has been Guinness and heading out to a match now where I can spectate with more Guinness. I wolfed it down in the garden this afternoon but I bloody well deserved it :pint2:

Yeah. There's a lot of similarity between what Russia is doing in Ukraine and what the Israeli government are doing. But there's a world of difference in the reporting of it and hypocrisy probably isn't too strong a term for it. As you know mate I'm not driven by politics or religion. I see things as good or bad, right or wrong and will call it as I see it. But I also try and see things from both sides and dismiss everything I see or hear until I've fact checked myself.

I agree that I'm made up with the response from other artists, but have to admit that I'm shocked my girls haven't added their name to the list of supporters. I can only assume that they are waiting for the OK from their label. I guess they're finding out that's the downside of being signed to a major; in essence they are employees. But they are huge advocates for Palestine and have done a couple of intimate gigs to raise funds for the vixcims. This one may be one of my favourite gigs by them and well worth the watch if you have an hour to spare.

Didn’t know TLDP had done gigs for Palestine. Fair play to them.

Evening all, just catching up on all the posts. I think it will be mayhem on the last game day. I’ve heard there might be a cordon too and so we are getting there massively early. I can’t justify 100 quid for my seat - what would I do with it? I’ll be passing on that one.
Not going to lie, I will be very emotional at the last game- but I’m the sort of person who cries at anything anyway so I’ve stocked up on waterproof eye make up.
I noticed it’s getting near your holiday @jazzy which is really exciting - bad news for us sadly we won’t be going in June after all as Mr P has been told his knee replacement op will be June or July and you can’t have flown in the previous 4 weeks šŸ™. Still at least when we do get to go we will be like two spring chickens. I’m going to try and change the bookings to next June, if we don’t this will be the second time we’ve lost out on flights- I’m never booking them early again.
I’m hiding from any news outlets at the moment- I feel how I felt when Boris Johnson won the election, a mixture of disbelief and concern for the future. It will be interesting to see what happens in Lancashire County Council now.
Have a lovely Friday evening everyone and let’s hope for 3 points tomorrow- I don’t want us to go out on a whimper šŸ’™

Good morning all on this glorious day here ,I hope all slept well and are fit to burst . I started clearing the moss from our roof yesterday ,not so bad as it is a bungalow and a low pitch ( ask Mr P @Val P ) it is terrible how my back aches after so short a time but it actually was that bad everyday when I worked so who is moaning ! I have been tod that I can only twenty minutes at a time ,so it will take a while .
I have tried two stiff brushes but they sort of glide over so I developed a scraper with the profile of the tiles made from thin plywood that in my thoughts will slice through the clumps and scrape to perfection -we will see .
I was quite interested in the way DD answered the questions about DCL He said that we cannot afford to have players who are constantly on the treatment table and that Dom will have to prove himself fit ,he also said that there is not time to be fair to assess him ,which was abit like the chicken and egg situation .
Personally I think his days are over for us which is a shame but he has not really done enough in my eyes to deserve a lucrative deal as that is what all deals are now and the lad is a bit fragile ,yes I know there is one on here who would willingly nurse him back to health .
Have a great day all COYB.

Good morning all. I am gutted that Durham County Council.is now in the hands of Reform UK. I genuinely do not understand how solidly working class ordinary people think that Farage has their interests at heart. There's a woman who stood in Ferryhill (near us) who does loads of community work, really looks after the locals. She didn't get in but the guy who spouts racist bs on social media did.

Morning all, beautiful bright morning but much cooler here. Son and DIL are clearing out her Mum’s house today so grandkids and dog are coming to us. Asked what they wanted to do they said they would like to go for a walk in the country. On the plus side they won’t be glued to their phones but then again I’ll miss the game. Still in a couple of years they will be grown up and a walk with us won’t be high on their list of things to do, that’s assuming my creaking knees will let me go on a country walk in the first place!
@Val P , sorry you will miss out on your holiday but sure it will be worth it in the end. I think asking you to pay Ā£100 for your seat is a taking the mick, I would have thought they would have given you it. When we went to the game in August the man sitting in front of us was already working out how to remove his, guess his efforts will have been in vain unless he’s able to sneak it out.
Have a good day, all.šŸ’™
