Now don't you go ruining H's day.Fred's really really not like the Terry Thomas bounder character that I bestowed upon him.
He's the nicest guy that you could meet.

It doesn't count if they can't play guitar Jazz.Cricket club is bit short of ....forgive me Anj , Val and G for going all Fred .....popetts !
Not seen anything about the election results but I wouldn't worry too much Jazz. Local elections never have any real bearing on general elections. For any of you watching the election results from Runcorn and Cheshire, the counting , interviews and announcement shown on TV took place at Halton Table Tennis club which , apart from yesterday obviously, has 8 tables permanently set up and is the North West centre of excellence for TT.
It's a 2nd home for me and woefully inadequate as a hub for NW ping pong.
I think people would be genuinely surprised how popular table tennis is. This week I went to a new club set up in Old Roan Methodist Church and there were over 65 people wanting to play and ages ranged between 8 and 80 with players of all standard from beginners to those representing England.
When I win the lottery I will build a proper centre somewhere in Merseyside.
Anyway it's Friday so after housework , gym and gardening I will allow myself some moderate imbibing.
Election results so far look terribly worrying, it looks like we are following very closely in America's footsteps. The worst of it are that Labour appear to be tone deaf and not listening or learning. This continuing mantra of "we inherited a mess " true as it might be just won't wash with people.
Tomorrow is cricket day and with the club short of volunteers I've agreed to help out behind the bar - any tips @peteblue ?
Have a lovely day everyone.
I don't think anybody is against going to the new stadium Pete. But that doesn't mean you won't be emotional about leaving the old one. Especially older people like us who are fortunate enough to have some great memories. It's the end of an era and the beginning of a new one. I'm excited, and it's a long time since I've used the words excited and Everton in the same sentence I can tell you.I know everyone is getting emotional about leaving GP, but having been going there since I was a young kid back in the 50’s, watching the main stand and Park End getting rebuilt, the removal of the boys pen etc and the current decrepit state of the lower Bullens, I can’t really take this sentimentality on board. I’m just focused on BMD and the beginning of the next chapter in our history……
With a bit of luck we can meet up before , during or after the gameI don't think anybody is against going to the new stadium Pete. It didn't even enter my head about going to the ground until my nephew suggested I join him and his friends for breakfast. I was just thinking about taking in the atmosphere in town. But now I'm thinking, yeah. Why wouldn't you. I was a season ticket holder there for many years. It's been a big part of my life.
Cheers T. It will be G&T. I've asked the neighbours round but the weather's been unpredictable here the last 2 days and the sun still doesn't know whether to shine or not. So still don't know whether I've got company for my G&T or not. Which reminds me. I'd better go and clean my garden table again as a seagull noticed I'd just cleaned it once and decided to leave me a present. I don't suppose I could borrow Daisy for an hour or two?Morning all.
I did get to group, I feel it's important even though they're just reading off handout sheets, the problem is when I have a headache it's very hard to concentrate and process information, hence why I disappear off here.
I explained about my headaches and one of the other (are we patients? I don't know) members of the group, started asking me stupid questions like have I tried this or have I tried that; like I'm a bit simple and have done nothing for ten years. it annoyed me a tad.
Masterchef Oz has started, I've seen every season and so I am tuning in. Not much else happening my time's taken up fighting pain.
Sorry I'm not more engaging yet, I hopefully will find a solution at some point. A Drs visit has to be on the cards, I have to give in and get stronger meds I can't carry on like this, constant head pain.
Happy Friday. Enjoy whatever you have planned, G&T for Fred i reckonSpeak later.
Hate to be the one to tell you mate but the words constant, whining and blue are as perfectly matched as a good port and stilton.I appreciate you all putting up with my constant whining blue.
I can't cook, I've watched all forms of MasterChef for probably 20years now and I still burn soup haha. It's finances really posh cooking costs money and that's the only recipes I get from MasterChef.
I always walk at this time of morning and see or should I say smellall the youngsters who have just discovered deodorant and perfume/after shave, glad i don't have to go through all that again. Kids are bizarre the amount I see walking with friends no matter how many and they'll all be individually on their phones as they walk.
Not being familiar with the area bit reluctant to go into the town of a Saturday night but if you are capable (Unfortunately by Saturday evening after meeting the cousins, I might be a little tipsy! One too many sweet sherries. However if any of you are in town on Saturday night I'll gladly meet you. I'm in no rush to go home on Sunday so a coffee or a beer somewhere could also work.
Absolutely mate. I'm not sure what time my nephew intends going into the ground, but given that he'll have a few tinnies to get through I doubt it's going to be too early. Not sure what pre match festivities the club has planned. I imagine I'll be looking for company from around 11am and somewhere to watch the match. Then I'll meet back up with my nephew again. I actually could have had a ticket. Our best mate (not my best mates but Cal and my best mates who came to visit me last summer) has a season ticket which is directly in front of my nephew. They're going to Ireland for his uncles 80th on the Saturday, and I could have had his ticket if he knew I was coming up.With a bit of luck we can meet up before , during or after the game
Our train leaves at 10.54 Monday so would have a bit of time to say Hello if nothing else and you could take the shock of meeting me in person. It would be great to meet up with everybody at some stage when I'm up, whether that's collectively or individually. It's unusual that we're all there at the same time, but I think the gods may be against a full get together on this occasion.
My two best mates are holding up my finalising my plans, which is the norm tbh. One of them is a real prima donna when it comes to arranging meet ups. He's a proper loyal and honest friend though, so it's easy to forgive him his little quirks. Plus I've arranged to spend Saturday watching the FA cup final with my nephew but as they still haven't set a time for the game yet it's difficult making plans. Sunday will be out of the equation for me as I think I'm joining said nephew early for breakfast on County Road, and I doubt I'll be much capable of speaking later on. But it's possible I may have some free time early Friday afternoon or early Monday morning before I visit Jazzy. Not sure if that helps.
Depends on how hung over I am from the SundayOur train leaves at 10.54 Monday so would have a bit of time to say Hello if nothing else and you could take the shock of meeting me in person.I’ll leave it with you and see a bit nearer the time.
What do you mean not familiar? Was my time in vain ?Not being familiar with the area bit reluctant to go into the town of a Saturday night but if you are capable () of making it down to the Albert Dock area we could meet you there or Sunday evening if you’re still about.
Take the ticket mate , I would die for it , well not literally but you know what I meanAbsolutely mate. But I'll be ok for Monday anyway so we'll meet then if we can't make it .happen Sunday for some reason.
