"Medium-sized" PL clubs thread

When I lived in London in the 70s I watched Chelsea (during their worst era) but also Fulham and it's good to see them doing well.
They've had a great record as survivors over the years, although they've never won anything.

That run Fulham had to the Europa League final in 2010(?) was electric. Them coming back from 4-1 down in the second leg to knock out Juventus was one of the great upsets I’ve seen in football.

They would have a lot more support if they hadn’t gone down right when it became really easy to watch the entire Premier League overseas.

You need to start living in the modern era, you're the football equivalent of a Brexit voter harping on about the Empire....
Will defend the record of the club I support with gusto. Don't agree with knocking ourselves plenty of other clubs fans will do that for me. Everton is a magnificent club unique in record and culture.

Sorry I thought they spent an absolute fortune to get 10th place in the league up to now this season. Yes they've done well accumulating bargain buys, sold for eye popping sums, but they've spent over and above this year. If they carry on another year their £105m in three seasons will soon be upon them. Their PSR credit will run out, what are their average crowds ? Their Commercial deals, are they in Europe next year ? Sorry to be a party pooper but Southampton were doing similar until Liverpool came and cherry picked their best players and they failed to get the same quality in, one bad year will do it and it's back to square one. Same for most clubs apart from the Sly 6.

I don’t think they’re in any PSR danger. Spent a lot this season but the two seasons before they didn’t spend much at all. I think last season they were even in a surplus

Not sure if there will be much interest but thought I'd start a thread on what you might call the medium-sized clubs in the prem. I'm talking clubs like Brighton, Palace, West Ham, Brentford, Bournemouth, Fulham, Forest, maybe Wolves too (until recently at least).

I feel like there's a lot of side discussion about them in other threads, mostly praise, although some posters do get (amusingly) triggered by one or two of the above. I thought a thread might be a good place for general discussion about them, maybe some aggro too if we're lucky.

The sort of clubs that are not in relegation danger (usually), comfortably in midtable (usually) and even pushing towards Europe (sometimes).

Personally I like to see these clubs doing well. A lot of them are very well-managed. I hope one of them wins the FA Cup this season.
West Ham, Wolves & Forest are big clubs

Personally, and this is more of a problem i have with the footballing world as a whole and 'football finance'

I don't like clubs who buy players with the main target to loan them out and flip them for a profit.

One might emerge from the pile to be a really good first team player for Brighton, but i feel there recruitment last summer and possibly going back furthar hasn't been 'as selective' as it was when plucking the likes of Caicedo, Mitoma etc.

Minteh is most likely to be there success, but Rutter & O'Reilly are ok (i think Alcaraz & Garner) and all the rest are not very good...Wieffer, Gruda don't have the pace for the PL and anyone who has seen him play could tell you that, that Cashin is undies.

Good news for us though, as they will continue to drift like the likes of Leicester & Southampton did
