"Medium-sized" PL clubs thread

Billy Dean

Player Valuation: £70m
Not sure if there will be much interest but thought I'd start a thread on what you might call the medium-sized clubs in the prem. I'm talking clubs like Brighton, Palace, West Ham, Brentford, Bournemouth, Fulham, Forest, maybe Wolves too (until recently at least).

I feel like there's a lot of side discussion about them in other threads, mostly praise, although some posters do get (amusingly) triggered by one or two of the above. I thought a thread might be a good place for general discussion about them, maybe some aggro too if we're lucky.

The sort of clubs that are not in relegation danger (usually), comfortably in midtable (usually) and even pushing towards Europe (sometimes).

Personally I like to see these clubs doing well. A lot of them are very well-managed. I hope one of them wins the FA Cup this season.

All of them have ideas above their station.

Add Man City to the list. Their Lego trophies dont fool me

As I lived in Bournemouth through my teen years, I still see them as a 4th division club. In the 80s nobody, I mean nobody was interested in footy in Bournemouth. A place full of old retired posh people and most the kids my age were more interested in posing about than they were playing footie and getting grubby. In fact there were loads of people who looked down at you as some kind of weirdo if you turned up with a few mates at a bit of grassland and jumpers for goalposts.

I still shake my head in disbelief when I see them in the list of the top flight. Bournemouth don't deserve / hasn't earned a top team in my view.

Need to get our blue tinted glasses off.
Where is everyone placing Everton?
We've finished below these teams far too regularly in the last few years.
To save embarrassment, I'd bin this thread until we've got something to shout about.
Going unbeaten for 7 games doesn't put us on the top table.

I wasn’t talking negatively about these clubs. And I wasn’t comparing them to us. I just wanted to start a thread about the clubs occupying that kind of ground.

I didn’t have Everton in mind at all when I started this thread. I would say traditionally were bigger than these clubs but they consistently outperform us because we’ve been badly managed for a long time
