News of Ex Players

Two points that stood out for me: Trevor eulogised the new stadium but said that's all well and good but you need to put a proper team in it. Daming. But true.

Big Nev reckoned Moyes was ok in the interim but not for the longer term. He didn't think Moyes could attract the level of player we need, that top players would not want to play for him.
Think these sort of comments are why Nev in particularly perhaps isnt as warmly welcomed as some other former players.
Not saying he’s wrong, but his forthright opinions aren’t limited to just Moyes and needless to say they often don’t toe the party line.

…I’ve never warmed to the man, even when he was playing for us but there’s absolutely no doubt about him being the best goalkeeper I’ve seen in my days watching Everton. The unbelievable became the norm with him.

Don’t agree with the big fella on Pickford, harsh words that. Without Jordan i think we would have went down .

Love the fella but these comments don’t help, I don’t know maybe he should have taken a more active role at the club? After all with him being who he is and all that he’s in a far better position than most of us to bring about change.

Wasnt he kind of shunned by Chairman Bill and the acolytes?
Maybe but I’m sure he could have made an effort to build something. I just feel his criticism is all well and good like but it’s nothing we don’t already know is it? The humble fan has known this stuff for years.

Im kind of surprised he’s been saying what he has recently especially about the club itself given he openly stated Sharpy is his mate and he barely said anything when headlock gate happened. Peter Reid did on ITV north west news but that was more or the less the same “just get behind the team “ routine a lot of people have tried to pull over the years. In other words, don’t disrupt the regime.
