Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I think we want to sell him.

Find it stupid if we do, but if they think it's inevitable, then I hope to God they are looking at Brightons transfer policy, £80m plus transfer fee plus add ons, plus a percentage of any future sell on, plus qualifying for Europe, trophy wins, appearances. Every bloody thing on Earth you can ram them with OR NO SALE ! Anything else is simply not acceptable, We hold the cards.

It's bandwidth to spend.

All clubs have to sell. Now more than ever. And players like Branthwaite allow pure profit.

….slightly contradicts Moyes comments that ‘we hold all the cards’ when it comes to keeping him and the rumours that he’s been offered an improved deal.
Cunha signed a new deal recently.
Means nothing other than putting the club in a better bargaining position.
Cunha will be gone come summer.

But still hope we keep Branthwaite at least for another season.

Selling Branthwaite could allow club to completely overhaul the squad. No need to sign short-term stop gaps. 80m transfer fee could allow something like 200 million splashed on incomings thanks to the way amortization works + fact that club's income will increase at BMD. That 80 million would mean no worries about PSR this or next year.

…generally agree but we’ve got him contracted for 3 years anyway. I’d be thinking a new deal keeps him here for one more season, if a player is in demand he’ll usually dictate when he leaves.

Yes course we do. Jesus you’re a right doom merchant. I feel sorry for your Mrs

As I explained, to allow the capacity to spend. Even the top teams will sell players they'd rather not.

Also, no need to be personal mate. If you want to continue to be allowed to post on here next season, understand;

Try an think whether your posts are constructure/conducive to the environment of the forum Ste, or whether they'd a tad angst/mean spirited.

I'm routinely trying to remind people - we've really eased off moderation with Everton angst being what it was the last few years but prior next season, I'll be asking moderators to leg accounts who post like that.
