6 + 2 Point Deductions

They can appeal as much as they want. Punishment will be applied straight away, same as it was done with us and forest. Dragging any appeal would not be beneficial to city. So I suspect they will take the punishment which we all know deep down to be very light anyhow. As I mentioned, I can see perhaps a points penalty small enough to ensure pl survival. They might end up winning the fa cup, so would still qualify to Europe that way.

No it won't, they are separating the two. Guilty or otherwise will be announced, that then gives space for an appeal from either party. When the appeal is completed, they will then apply the punishment, or not.

We had an opportunity to appeal the punishment, not our guilty verdict. City can appeal the verdict separately without any punishment being applied.

Where did you post them mate?

Any ideas what you think this years numbers would be? Some of the interest payments coming off + reduction in amortisation/wage should help?

Sorry mate just above, it will be our published losses minus 25 to 35 mill in scope.

Well the next published loss should be posted by the 31st of March that’s the deadline that the accounts have to be published, I suspect it’s down on the 89 odd million figure, we last posted, I’ll be disappointed if it’s not, but don’t think it will be down by much, 20 odd million and we’ve done very well (suspect it won’t be that much) - the accounts published at the end of this month are up to July 24 - we know we are compliant for the year, if we weren’t we would have been charged, I suspect our loss will prob be 65- 70+ for 23/24 million give or take - that’s just my opinion.

For 24/25 - despite the feel good mood heading into the summer, I think we’re still operating at a significant loss if we’ve reduced it to 60 odd million we’ve done very well, but I suspect it’s still more - think we’ve been killed in 23/24 & 24/25 on costs and interest as a business - at one stage I was interest was costing us 5 mill a month that’s up to Jan this year. I suspect we have work to do before July to comply with PSR and we might see a surprising sale - wouldn’t at all be surprised to see one of McNeill, Beto, Myko or Garner go before the 1st of July if Branthwaite stays.

Just my opinion mate! ;)

Just to throw some things out. I agree with you circa 70m becoming say 35m.

We will lose a year of 62m. Id be surprised if our loss was over that. Especially as we have added sponsorships of say 15-20m and the interest payments down circa 50m a year (appreciate that it's maybe only 1/2 of that for this year).

Hopefully with a higher league place that might be another 10-15m on top.

That is worse than I hoped, especially hoe positive Moyes seems to be about having money in the summer.

I don't think anyone would be one bit upset at any of those "surprising" sales you refer to. If that's as bad as it gets, we're back, Baby!

From a BBC article about appointing Kinnear;

Thelwell worked under spending constraints

Since the start of the 2022-23 season, when Thelwell oversaw his first transfer window, Everton have implemented considerable cost-cutting measures to balance the books and are the only Premier League club during that period with a positive net spend of £80m.

But despite receiving two deductions totalling eight points after an appeal for breaching the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) last season, the club have managed to survive in the top flight and are 15 points clear of the bottom three.

Thelwell sanctioned the signings of 22 players - with significant fees paid only for players aged 25 or under - and either sold or released 26 players, particularly those who were older and high-earning.

The largest transfer outlay was on Amadou Onana for £33m from Lille in 2022, and the Belgium midfielder went on to join Aston Villa in the summer for £50m.

Watts added: "Kevin has been integral in ensuring Premier League survival in this difficult period.

"By resolving Profit and Sustainability issues through significant player trading we believe we have an extraordinary squad that can be the foundation for future success."

I wouldn't be losing sleep over any of them other than Pickford and Branthwaite. This club is going nowhere until we have a step change in player quality.
I know, but get rid of the worst ones first, Garner is one of our mid tier players and is actually useful, Beto is working his way up Start of Jan I'd have punted Beto without a second taught but he's earned a stay for now although missing a hat trick of 1 on 1 chances last game didn't do him any favors.

I'm pleased for Beto - but I would hold judgement on him until May. As far as I am concerned, he has it all to prove. He had a false start under Dyche and has now made a proper impact. But that can't be the end of the story. He must keep doing it. Until the end of the season. Then he stays. Otherwise, off he trots.
