Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all. Mark Carney the soon to be Canadian PM is an Evertonian. He has distant relatives from Liverpool and supports us as a result. I think this qualifies him perfectly for his new job - living next door to a delusional bully with no moral compass 🤣
I liked Mark Carney when he was at the Bank of England. Very measured and considered..

Thought he might have come on board in an executive role at Everton - could have been a very well qualified finance director - we'll even throw in a couple of free tickets Mark!

Babysitting is going well, thanks. Bathed and sitting on the sofa, hopefully their Kindles will keep them quiet for the rest of the evening, I can’t promise I’ll be quiet, Must remember not to shout at the telly and frighten the life out of them.šŸ˜‚

When you shout at the TV, don’t forget that the TV people can’t actually hear you…. šŸ˜‚ā€¦ā€¦..

Yeah it's a proper Blues pub run by Dom and Fiona, good mates of Harryflashman and good Evertonians. They also run the Bridewell where you'll find a guy called Gerard serving the tables. What he doesn't know about Everton probably hasn't happened lol Both great pubs worth checking out and any Blue is well received.

I'm sad to see that Gerard has retired now. I'm finally getting over to do the Goodison tour in April and I'd have liked to have dropped in to see Gerard - I used to serve him a pint or two in Southport in the early to mid 90s. An absolute gent.

I didn't know that. I often pop in to see him when I'm up in Liverpool if I have spare time. As you say, an absolute gent. Known him for close on 25 years.

Good morning all on this drizzly one here . I hope all slept well and have a fine day today I was told a tale yesterday of a person in the UK who has a bad back ,not bad enough to stop them working but bad enough to qualify for welfare benefits ,who is "buying " a new car paid for by the government -who complains about the long waiting times to get medical care and says there should be more doctors !!!
It reminded me of the eighties /nineties when I realised that of all my local friends I was the only one paying taxes the others worked on the side -it was perfectly commonplace.
No wonder with that attitude the health system is under extreme strain .My wife heard the story and was so outraged ,it just doesn't happen here ,as far as I am aware .I think I stated that 85% of women work and just a bit more men and all pay taxes .
Moaning observation over Have a great day all COYB
Must be a car under whatever the DLA system is called now. If you get the car then you get a reduced benefit rate.

Yes I understand that ,my comment was based on the fact it is/was acceptable to use the system to fraudulently obtain money when working for cash .The purchase of the car just made me more sad that someone benefitting from help would claim that there are not enough doctors but at the same time not feel the need to be a taxpayer .

Hope you are feeling much better and didn’t need to go back to the docs.
Aw thank you. Went back this morning, he doubled my antibiotics for an extra four days and said if no better then he will send me for a chest X-ray. To be honest I don’t think I’ll need it as I do feel a bit brighter this evening so hopefully I’ll be back up to speed soon. As Mr P said earlier - I look like I’m back in the room.

Just in time for Saturdays game.

Extremely common when I was growing up as there was minimal respect for the state anyway. Doesn’t seem as prevalent now to me but we all know someone who appears able to work, doesn’t do so but always has the trappings of money regardless. It does make me wonder at times why I bother.

Morning all, bright and sunny here again. We’re off to the hospital soon as Mr G. has an appointment at the skin clinic. He had some ā€œageing spotsā€ removed some years ago and they have returned. After being told by GP he would have to wait months and months for an appointment he got one in two weeks. Not sure whether that is a good thing or a bad thing.
Have a good day, all.šŸ’™
