He has won more major trophies than we have as a club.
Yeah for another club

Absolutely bang on mate.I dont think its harsh at all. If he was so in love with Everton, he couldve run his massive contract down earlier and returned to actually help the club. Insted he only returned when he wasnt good enough to play PL football anymore and was tossed out of manure - cause he knew he could always suckle some money out of blue Bills sentimental teets.
Its probably obvious, but i dont like him, and i think Evertonians being all proud about his accomplishments makes us feel super small time. He didnt do anything for Everton, but go for an ok sum when we needed the money, and taunt us after scoring against us. Him being discussed as a legend for our club is spitting on great players that gave their all for Everton. Its borderline offensive.
Edit:
He wasnt decent when he came back, he was absolutely slug-like in his movements.
Saved us from going bankrupt might be one reason, the very best young player ever to be produced by the club is another, only two years goes against him but the club (Kenwright) sold him before he wanted to go.What has he ever done for Everton Football Club to be considered an Everton Legend?
Unfortunately not. He could have been.
He might be the best player most of us have seen though!Best player from Crocky who's worn our shirt, maybe.
He was a wonderful footballer, a genuine generational talent. But, he's not the best player that's ever played for Everton. He'd be in the top 10 probably.
Not questioning his talent. He was world class. Also not holding him joining Man Utd against him. Didn't like his antics after that as a Man Utd player, but appreciate it wasn't all down to him. But in the end legends are made on that green pitch. Rooney didn't do that in our royal blue shirt.Saved us from going bankrupt might be one reason, the very best young player ever to be produced by the club is another, only two years goes against him but the club (Kenwright) sold him before he wanted to go.

Looks like mooms went very early with this oneHe has won more major trophies than we have as a club.
Spot on… He clearly loves the club…not as a player, he did entirely the right thing for himself and his career when he left but I’ve never doubted his allegiance to the club as a supporter. I like the lad, loved watching him play he was probably the last of the English street footballers.
NoGed, were/are you a teacher?
He might be the best player most of us have seen though!
Worked with a toffee a few years back called Ged. Shame, he was a decent lad
