Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all, half term and it’s been an up and down week so far. Dog sitting on Monday so son could take grandkids 1 & 2 to London whilst their Mum visited her Mum in hospital. Took grandkids 3 & 4 over to Stamford on Tuesday as they were “desperate” to go somewhere on the bus. Visited my friend yesterday morning, then had to take delivery of hospital bed at DiL Mum’s to enable her to spend her last days at home. Stayed with Grandkids until their Dad came home from work at nine. Just waiting now to see if we are needed today so will be pottering round in case we are. I have been locked out of my Posh rewards account due to “unusual activity” so may take the opportunity to spend the morning on the phone trying to sort it out.
Have a good day, all.💙
Your family are very fortunate to have you guys on hand, ready and willing to help.

Hope everything goes as smoothly and peacefully as is possible with DiL’s mum, and you get your Posh rewards account sorted!

Lidl does the best in-house bakery goods of all the supermarkets. They as a company have a good foothold in Ireland now and also are lead sponsors of Ladies Gaelic football. I do like it when a big company like that makes a genuine effort to engage with the community.
Mr G. called in Lidl this afternoon he bought me a jam doughnut for my tea - the old smoothie.

I’ve been going there for over 60 years, as my father and grandfather did and while I’ve many fond memories (winning 4 titles) GP is no longer fit for purpose and BMD is where, for many younger supporters, new experiences will be felt. Probably just me but I find that I can only get emotional about people, and not ‘things or objects’ which can be replaced as with GP and BMD. Each to their own I suppose…….
Having lived abroad for a long time I have already lost the old lady in my mind but feel that it will be soon just a fond memory even for the regulars as BMD takes their hearts .We have yet to know but all the signs are it will be at least as formidable as Goodison after all it is enclosed and the noise will reverberate . The closeness of the pitch is a copy of Goodison and the steepness of the stands will make it a true cauldron .

They don't bake from fresh.

Good evening all. I hope @Val P is feeling better. Sounds like you are having a busy week @Gwladysover- so sorry about your daughter in law's Mum.
After yesterday's successful gym and swim visit, I went to high intensity aqua aerobics tonight. Hopefully this will all be reflected on the scales eventually!
The decorator got back to me with a quote. It seems reasonable so we're going to go with him. Hopefully he can get it done in a couple of weeks and that will be phase one of the moving in completed.

I hope all goes well with the move and aerobics ,make sure to have all decisions made over colours/papers so he has no need to move on as it can be hard getting people back and don't pay before you are happy especially at the end of the job.

Good morning all on this cloudy day here .I hope all are well and had a good night . We have porridge every other Friday ( don't ask me why) ,I take it with sugar and butter but the wife has salt and butter .How do you have it ?
Have I mentioned we got a steam cleaner ,well it is my favourite toy .We have a lot of tiles and vinyl flooring , it is magic ,so good it makes my old attempts at cleaning look abysmal .It also does the kitchen doors ,upholstery ( yet to try ), calcium build up around the taps and windows .I think we should get one for the other hand .
Have a great day all COYB

Even so, they remain my go to place for their rolls if I am making a lunch up for next day.

Tesco have a good system whereby their bakery ovens are on view and the smell is a delight wafting through the store. Their bread doesn’t last as long as Lidl’s though!

Morrisons near us used to have a good bakery but just recently is awful, they barely show their bread the oven, it’s practically raw inside.

Maybe a change of manager in the bakery but you would think quality checks would quickly pick up on things like that.

Anecdotally I know that Tesco bakery make their fellow employees a birthday cake if they are working that day. It’s a small but lovely gesture which I’m sure is appreciated.
