Best Away fans at Goodison

Being an old git. The QPR game in 1985 when we won the league. QPR fans stayed in the ground and cheered our players as they paraded the trophy. Always had a soft spot for them after that. I hope they get back in the prem one day.
That Guinness QPR shirt from around that time is awesome as well to be fair.

I cant remember who it was, a team who had come up that season and barely won a game and all through the match they sang about how poor they were “we’re crap, and we know we are”. Or going down, going down, going down (about themselves).
I remember that but cannot decide whether it was Sunderland or Birmingham City (dodgy memory cells)

Know they've always had loads to sing about, but always thought United away support was excellent always singing regardless of the score.

AEK has to be the best away lot we've had? Them and Hajduk (excl. The trouble) were loud all the way through.

I think even during their barren patch in the 70's and 80's, Man United always took huge crowds with them when they were on the road.

Funny you should mention QPR. I was at Loftus Road with a mate back in the day when Andy Hinchliffe scored a 90th minute free kick to give us a 3-2 win. (We started with Brett Angell and Stewart Barlow up front 😳). The QPR fans, and even the London coppers in the away end, were the biggest sh*thouse fans I’ve ever encountered this side of the RS.

Normally West Ham for me, we regularly banjo them but they don’t stop singing. Remember the late 80’s game when they had Liam Brady and McAvenie and I think we won about 5-1 or something and they started singing all the Everton songs, enjoyed their day and cracked on.

They still carry on singing regardless of the way the game is going. Upton Park always reminded me a little of Goodison and always had a few pints down there with no bother and a good laugh, working class people who enjoy a bit of good football even when it’s not on offer every week!
