In your opinion Dave, would you say that Moyes now looks the right man for Everton and is the right man for next 4 or 5 seasons to stabilise and move the club back to where it should be?

No.

Hels been right to get us over the line this season.

We need a new and more dynamic manager than Moyes. It's one step forward and one step back with him. He's never been ambitious enough in games that matter.

I'd get Iraola at all costs this summer.

Won't happen. Unless Moyes finishes the season awfully then he is here for at least another 2-3 seasons. Hopefully far longer because for me he is in the top 5 managers in the league and the most experienced

He's bang average.

His career underlines that.
He has a ceiling definitely but he's far from bang average. As a club we're miles off that ceiling too. If he finishes his contract and has us as a top 8 side again that's a good position for a new manager to come in and do something more. My hope is he's here to stabilise and get get us into a position to push on. Personally I have a lot of time for Moyes, when he left I thought it was time for both club and manager to move on so had no hard feelings. It could have been handled better but c'est la vie.

I'm really not sure what to make of the Weir links. On face value, the players brought in at Brighton are great, but then a lot of reports and 'experts' put this down to an algorithm and analytics companies we won't have access to. Then you factor in that, with Weir being a former player of his, it would likely allow Moyes to rule the roost on recruitment- which I don't think is right, no matter who the manager is.

I know I'm in the minority here, but since Thelwell has come in, I think we have mostly brought in decent players considering the catastrophically low budget, sales and other constraints. For me, if he feels he can work with Moyes, he has done enough to stay on. Plus, in a summer of upheaval, I think the continuity would help. People may disagree, just my opinion.

But whoever it is, with such a pivotal and busy summer ahead, we need to make the decision now. Maybe the position to change up is head of player recruitment, rather than DoF?

Someone do a comparison of the players bought by Thelwell and the players bought by Brighton in that time.

Sorry mate you lost me when you said phil neville wasn't value for money for Everton and im pretty sure he was £2.5m.

I mean we could pick and choose all Alex Fergusons signings and find a load of duds too.
Blomqvist, kleberson, Djemba Djemba, Taibi, I'm sure there's far more. Difference being Moyes was on a shoestring budget and still found A LOT of gems for very cheap prices
Can't be bothered to look further but Transfermarkt lists him at 5.3m€.

Moyes at least could sell to buy. Thelwell has had to sell for the club to survive. After that he could sell some more to get some money for transfers. Also, not all Moyes signings were immediate hits. It took time for guys like Coleman and Jagielka to make an impression.

Who’s Thelwell’s equivalent to Moises Caicedo and Alexis MacAllister?
Didn't they have MacAllister for like 5 years & even loaned him out? Caicedo was there for three seasons - about the same time as Thelwell has been at Everton. So hard to tell. They also paid 25 million for Caicedo.
