I feel that Tim, Garner and Alcaraz could be a great triumberate in the middle.
I like the sound of it (would have a lot more quality on the ball) but worry it would be very open, not sure that any of those 3 sits properly as a defensive mid like gana does..... maybe Garner with a bit more experience?

Yeah I’ve been watching garner and he’s always the one who makes themselves available to the defenders, plus he has genuine quality on the ball.

Could be an old schooll one stays and one goes kind of deal with Tim

…..daft as it sounds, his time out through injury might have come at a good time. He’d impressed but lost his way a bit. Our form was bad whilst he was missing but it allowed him to watch the club from the sidelines and settle into the area.

New manager must like what he sees in training to be giving him game time. New start with the team performing better.

You say he lost his way, i would if i was a cm getting put RM and RB aswell obviously versatility is good but still

Nearly a full 180 there Eggs.

…really? it’s the same view

The home game against Bournemouth was a great illustrator for me. I was sat in old paddock, a great position to watch him literally take the p1ss out of Brooks. It was terrific, he seemed on same wavelength as Ndiaye, they exchanged some fine interplay and he was going past opposition like they weren’t there. So impressive.

Then he got lost in the last 30mins, caught in possession upfield and unable to go with midfield runners. Brooks had the last laugh scoring one of the goals that beat us. He just needed to sit in and see the game home rather than trying to be Hollywood. I call it a lack of application, you could call it game management but he has to learn that because he has a lot going for him.

It isn't for me to speak on behalf of @Eggs but I think he is saying that he needs to be focused for the full game rather than portion of it.
He also needs to learn what is needed at different times... this is normal for all young players.

His first post says lacks application.
His second post says needs to show application.
Aren’t these the same thing ?
No. He said, and I quote "just needs to show application for a full 90mins". That insinuates that he showed application for most of/some amount of the game, but not all of it. It is a lot closer to having application than not having it.
