At this point we just need bodies in. But surely nobody can tell me that an obligation to buy for 20 millions for a player that has failed in his last club is good value. This is a gamble, and I am OK with it. But don't come with the crap that there is no value out there when you splash the money on alcaraz.

It's based on a very high proportion of starting games, which we can control, surely, barring a massive injury crisis?

He's tenacious, got something in his locker, and quite critically for us is alive and under 40.

We can moan that we didn't get more in but let's at least be thankful for it not being a "go with what we've got" year
