Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Ongoing family illness at the minute and I have spent the last couple of days around the hospital. Things are improving well though and again I praise the NHS staff for working so well in a broken system.

As it stands my Galway football trip is on (as no urgent medical concerns) but I do not like the look of this storm rolling in. That is what could scupper my plans tomorrow. I will be heading South to Dublin before a sharp turn West to Galway and while the Red Warning is over before I arrive on the West Coast, I’m not so confident the train line will be functioning as normal. Please cross your fingers and toes for me!

Hi folks. Mr F has been given a bonus day off tomorrow. He has a part time job as janitor/ handyman for a cafe in a park in Durham - run by Durham Council. The park is by the railway station, possibly one of the highest points in Durham so the cafe is closed for the day.
Yesterday was fab. The spa was awesome. If anybody fancies a bit of luxury and pampering then get yourself there - Hoar Cross Hall Hotel. It was also really lovely to spend time with both daughter and daughter in law. My deep tissue massage was akin to going a few rounds with Mike Tyson but I felt great afterwards.
I've been following the sentencing of the Southport murderer. It is beyond belief that anybody could have so much hate in their heart - and at such a young age.

Keeping everything crossed for your trip, hope you have better luck than my brother - his flight home from Florida has been delayed by 23 hours and when he eventually arrives at Kings Cross he’ll find there are no trains running this weekend due to engineering works.

It’s a strange one in that in Armagh our Red Warning lasts until 2pm but in Leinster, right beside me in the South, it ends at 11am and becomes amber. No trains or buses anywhere on the entire Island while in a Red Zone. So, to get my train from Dublin to Galway I now must drive and hope the delays aren’t too bad. God knows what the storm has done to tracks and all that but I would still rather travel to the West by train than drive as the roads could be worse etc. I know I will get there eventually if I take my time and be patient. All this for the first league game of the year and it isn’t even until Sat evening! Accommodation paid for etc etc

Sounds like your brother is getting it way worse than me. I will pray to St Christopher for the two of us.
